A lovely, simple little piece of writing. I related well to what you wrote becuase I have a dog who loves belly rubs too. I walk into the room and she automatically rolls onto her back, especting a belly rub. The flow of this poem was good and the rhymes and rhythm were great. I could see you standing in the bathroom, in front of the mirror, bottles in hand and a desperate look on your face. The devil always gets his way with addictions. I drink when I try to stop.
