A young lady who is possibly suffering from depression and is emotionally battered and by herself to deal with it all. It was sorrowful and sad. I enjoyed reading your piece. 'HUMANITY'. It was written very well. it told an excellen story of the state of mankind now. Where we are slowly destorying the planet. With the Chinese, being the largest polluter on the planet, I suppose we are not too far behind. Man needs to stop using fossil fuels. There are so many energy efficient ways to fuel our growing society. I would actually use nuclear power which France and Japan get 75% oftheir electricity from nuclear power. Nuclear power however does have its side effects. What are you to do with the spent fuel rods. there are alternatives that we are just beginning to explore. I am a smoker, too. You are only 16. I am 43. I have been smoking since I was 13. I do know that it will be the death of me. And you as well. But you have plenty of time to quit. You're right it does calm the nerves. In the old days it used to make you look cool. Not anymore. Smokers are not allowed to smoke any public place. Restaurants, bars, stores, etc. Your piece was real educated. it was also written well. At least you are aware of the dangers. At 16, in 1983 I thought smoking was good for you. Idiot. WE were not educated about the dangers of smoking. I can still remember cigarette ads on the tv and the magazines. Quit now while you have a good chance, please. This was truly a brillant story. "SNOW" I have read many books on the Battle of the Bulge. Especially, The Battling Bastards of Bastone. I have watched several movies that have always fascinated by the Battle of the Bulge. I thought Band of Brothers miniseries on HBO was excellent. Protraying them through the entire war. The Germans really thought they had us. But they underestimated American's tenacity. They almost did it. I suppose if Patten had not come to the rescue and the weather had not let up they would have done it. I thoroughally enjoyed reading your story. The performance of the US Armed Forces during WWII was exemplary. I am a WWII History Buff. Once I started reading I did not take my eyes off. It is well written. Very well organized. I'm not sure why this is but your story surely tells it. I had such a relationship when I was 15. his name was Clay. And he was not gay. But we had a deep love for each other. And we were best friends. I was wondering why you didnt' name your characters? It was a lovely piece. I like to think that he was gay after all though he wasn't.
