resurrection day 1:

"Valerie"- Amy Winehouse
Cover: Glee (concert version)

Honestly? It just makes me happy. It was the song we used for my first (and last) year of tap team. It was something I did- not something from Mom. I used my tutoring money to pay for the team- and while I didn't get to compete, I got to perform it with the team during the year-end show at the theatre. I have video of the performance (which I can still do), but it's not going up anywhere, sorry. *Laugh* Mainly because it's in two parts and I don't really want to make it into one. And because I'd rather not put myself up there on the internet like that. *Wink*

and I just found this version (which is also pretty cool):

Describe three sounds that are important to you, and one sound that drives you absolutely nuts. Or, answer this the other way around, if that suits you.

Three important sounds- my family's voices, my friend's voices, and piano music.
one that drives me absolutely nuts? pen clicking. click click click click.... *Irritated*

How do you contrast a physical touch versus an emotional touch? Do you feel that one is any more of the five senses than the other?
I've never been a touchy person. Both physically and emotionally. I'm quiet. I don't like being touched, and and I don't like emotional stuff.
I'm growing out of the emotional touch thing now, but it still takes me a bit to accept those emotional touches.
As for one being more of a sense than the other- I always thought the physical touch was the sense- never actually thought about the emotional touch- though when I think harder, Hi-5 did mention it... "I can feel when you're near me"
So in retrospect, I've never considered the emotional touch a "sense"- though it could be a "sixth sense" now that I think of it. I'll have to think more. *Hand1**Hand2*

Questions about life, eh? Here goes my thoughts (or questions!)

1 What is life?
2 Why are we here?
3 Are we here? (I'm currently taking philosophy, so yeah)
4 Where does our money end up?
5 Am I really seeing what I'm seeing?
6 Does anyone else see what I see?

Children are often scolded "You see with your eyes, not with your hands!" Why do you think it's important that we see with more than just our eyes?

Honestly? I have NEVER heard of that one before. the most common scolding sis and I would get as kids was "kids are to be seen, not to be heard." *Silent*

ANYWAYS. Back to the prompt.. *Whistle*

Looks can be deceiving. So can names. Like Chicken Feet. *Laugh* it's delicious once you try it (eat it), but the looks and the name are very deterring. So, my final declaration about this:

Keep an open mind about everything!

A (mostly Australian) song list. I usually tell people I don't listen to music. And in the traditional sense, I don't really listen to music. I'm not that into current pop stuff. I tend to stick with what I know, and then stay there. Here's a list of what I've been listening to recently:

Almost Here- Delta Goodrem
Believe Again- Delta Goodrem
Cold as Stone- Lady Antebellum
Don't Let Me be Lonely- The Band Perry
Electric Storm- Delta Goodrem
Fight Song- Rachel Platten
Ghost Town- Adam Lambert
Honey I'm Good- Andy Grammar
In This Life- Delta Goodrem
Jump and Shout- Hi-5
Knock Knock Knock- HI-5
Landslide- Glee/Dixie Chicks
Mistaken Identity- Delta Goodrem
New Americana- Halsey
One Day- Delta Goodrem
Problem- Ariana Grande
Quittin' You- The Band Perry
Run the World (Girls)- Pitch Perfect 2
Sanctuary- Delta Goodrem, Something Good- Carrie Underwood
Take Me to Church- Hozier
Uptown Funk- Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars
Valerie- Glee (concert version)
Wings- Delta Goodrem
Xanadu- Olivia Newton-John
You Will Only Break My Heart- Delta Goodrem
Zoo Party- Hi-5

Today was the last day of the mentorship program for this year. It was very emotional, actually. Lots of hugging and "Thank you"s. I felt very happy I was able to prepare my mentees better for college, and they were also happy they got so much out of the program. Thursday night, I got maybe 1-2 hours of sleep because we didn't finish prepping for today until 3-4 am. *Shock* And then there was still a shower and travel time back to my dorm... I also ended up doing very last-minute work in the morning- having completely forgotten there was a peer edit due. *Pthb*
I'm exhausted. And sleep deprived. Very much so. Good night. *Sleep*

War Chest Wednesday!

Do you have a lucky number, and if so, why is it special to you? If you don't have a lucky number, is there a trinket or similar object that carries a special lucky significance for you?

I have 2 "lucky" numbers. One of them, I created in elementary school- during my Hi-5 crazy phase. In short, I was crazy about Charli- everything she did or liked, I wanted to do/like, too. And hence lucky number #1 was born.
Lucky number #2 came in 8th grade I think. If not 8th grade, then some time in middle school when I started exposing myself to more pop music. I really liked a certain artist, and had a crazy-phase for her too. *Laugh*

I'm not gonna say what the numbers are, just because I tack them on to the back of most of my school passwords. *Wink* *Silent*
