*Laugh* in honor of the Chinese teacher we all disliked so much last year, learning this song in a week and humiliating yourself by singing it in front of the class was extra credit right around this time. *Cheshire*
I did it, sis did it, and... nobody else did it. *Laugh* I managed much better than she did, naturally. She didn't quite put in the effort to learn it. Me? I downloaded it, got it on my phone, and then put it on replay for about 3 days. I can still sing it. *Facepalm*
Synopsis: it's a song about the rain, if you can't tell from the video. No, I don't know what the words at the beginning say, but I know the meaning of the lyrics:

la la la la la, It's raining, you can see everyone running
beep beep beep beep taxi cabs: their sight is especially welcome (even if you have money, you can't ride)
la la la la la, you're all wet now, all the smiles have disappeared from people's faces.
He looked helplessly at the sky, he sighed and shook his head.
If you think the sky's color is off, it's best to bring an umbrella
don't wait until the rain has come, and we'll see you hiding and running. (ha ha!)
rumble, rumble, lightning is striking, nobody is brave enough to run now! (pa pa) *Left* [lightning claps, I think]
He looked helplessly at the sky, he sighed and shook his head.

Honestly, such a song fits the teacher SO WELL. From what I've observed, she takes some sort of odd pleasure in others' misery. And so, in honor of the teacher, I present 王夢麟's "雨中即景" (官方完整版Comix).
********

According to me (pinkbarbie) intuition and instinct are sources of knowledge. What do you think?

Absolutely. I feel like I learned something like this in 11th grade, for psychology. Something about primal instincts and how instincts are what keep you alive or something like that...
I remember my teacher making some reference to cavemen. *Laugh*
Also, on tests, everyone always says "go with your gut instinct", because supposedly, it's usually right.
*Idea* Oh! And... there was something about "inherent learning" in Psych last quarter. Like, learning your mother tongue is inherent- nobody really teaches you how to talk, you just do, usually by copying other people. Then, there's also the stuff you feel you've learned before and don't remember until you're reminded about it... or when you're guessing on something because it "feels right"- that's intuition. So yes, intuition and instinct are sources of knowledge. *Bigsmile*

Yeah, not "5 days 'til christmas" anymore, but it's close enough. *Pthb* It's 4 days in the US and in AU, but I'm catching up here, so I'm going to say it's 5. *Bigsmile*

I found the video around the time I signed up for this activity... but somehow I know most of the choreography already! *Laugh* Here you go:

Well, since it's 11, and the night before this ends, I choose "Night before Christmas". Once more, I know the choreography, I know the lyrics, and I can pretty much do this with my eyes shut. *Pthb*

This song is another Hi-5 regular the group performs at Carols by Candlelight. I like this one because it turns a story into a song. I think I also used this song to parody for a geometry extra credit project in 9th grade. *Laugh*

This is another favorite Charli song for me, even though I've never seen it performed, and don't think it has been, this song is on the second Hi-5 Christmas album- Jingle Jangle Jingle, and I liked it because it was Charli. Plus it had to do with dancing. *Bigsmile*

Totally not the official video and actually kind of a sad video, but this is the song:

Yes, it's Hi-5. *Laugh*

Yes, I also know the choreography to this one. I chose this as a support for my earlier claim- that I love how they can take an ordinary song and then make it so accessible to everyone else. It's track 2 on their CD, (yeah I actually know this stuff! *Pthb*) and I just like it because it's upbeat and cheery. Which is not what I'm feeling right now. *Facepalm*

Yeah, I have mad horrible video-making skills, but oh well. My lyrics are accurate, and I think that matters the most. *Laugh*

Saying that I was astonished when I heard this song not sang by Hi-5 for the first time would be an understatement. My knowledge of pop-ish Christmas music is very limited, and I thought this was a Hi-5 original. Until... 9th or 10th grade. I got the CD in 2001 or 2002... so I had this false belief for 10 years that Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree was a Hi-5 song. *Facepalm*
Now I know it's not a Hi-5 original, but I still like the Hi-5 version best. *Bigsmile* I've only listened to one or two other versions, so... *Laugh*

Anyways, here's the video.

... is more Hi-5 Christmas songs on Youtube. *Laugh* no, not really, but yeah, that would be nice.

Music isn't a big thing in my household. I'd say 80-90% of the CDs we have consists of Hi-5. And those were from Australia. Like, literally, sent from Australia through snail mail to the US. The other 10% consists of classical music. My mom's stuff. So, YouTube isn't encouraged... not unless you're looking up your piano examination pieces to listen to. *Rolleyes*
When my mom DOES go on YouTube, it's special for us well, me at least. She'll show us more of her songs, and sometimes if we're lucky, my sister and I get to choose some songs to blast out from Mom's computer too.
All I Want For Christmas is one of the songs I remember her showing us, saying she really liked the song. I chose it for today because I'm trying to space out my Hi-5 songs... and because some other Hi-5 songs are on planned dates, and I'm running out of ideas. *Bigsmile*

I threw together a lyric video for this song in an hour or so. Yes, the quality isn't great, but yes, it does its job. That's what matters, right? *Bigsmile*

Anyways, a contrast from yesterday's peppy, upbeat shorts-wearing Santa Claus....

"Dear Santa" is my choice for day 6. I like this song because it's nice and slow. It balances out the rest of the album well, because there are so many fast upbeat ones on there. I think it also teaches kids to be reasonable. *Laugh* Subliminally.
"I know it's a busy time of year, for you with everything"..... Lets kids know, Santa is busy during this time of year, and so if you don't get what you want, there's always next year. *Wink*

Here's the video:

I chose this one now because a friend just came in and I showed her this song. She left in a giggle fit. *Laugh*

Yes, this is another Hi-5 song, but it's for day 5, so I think that's appropriate. *Bigsmile* This is one of my current favorite Hi-5 carols because it's cute and original. You wouldn't think of Santa wearing shorts, with him coming from the cold North Pole, but on the other side of the world where it's hot for Christmas, it would be very appropriate for Santa to wear shorts.
I used to make up my own choreography for this song, because I didn't know an official version existed. It wasn't much and I don't remember most of it, but I know it consisted of lots of clapping.

[Embed For Use By Upgraded+]

Sorry the quality isn't great, it's the only other version around unless I want to make a lyric video, which I don't have time for. *Pthb*
