Thursday, June 28, 2012, Day 28 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is Should men get paternity leave from work?

Should men get paternity leave from work? This is something I’ve never considered. Perhaps because it doesn’t effect me personally. I believe in the equality of men and women. So I don’t see why a man shouldn’t get paternity leave, after all, he helped produce the child he should help take care of his son or daughter.

It’s a different time
And a different century
Change with the circumstances

This is the twenty-first century and we know more about the importance of fathers in the lives of children. Paternity leave will help the father band with the child and help the mother in one of the most difficult times of her life and probably their marriage.

I say let men have paternity leave. I’m not sure how well it would go over with a company; I mean women are still struggling for equal pay. Giving men paternity leave will help promote equality.

Wednesday, June 27, 2012, Day 27 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is Tattoos are getting a great deal of publicity lately. Do you have one? If so, describe it and why you chose it. If not, would you consider getting one? Why or why not? What would it represent and where on your body would you be inked?

I’ve never been inked
I’ve seen beautiful tattoos
I’ve seen weird tattoos

Do I have a tattoo? No. Would I consider getting a tattoo? Yes, I would consider it. I’ve seen some beautiful and well-done tattoos. I don’t think there is anything wrong with body art. It’s just another way for the individual to express him or herself.

Tattoos do have a bad reputation, but it isn’t the tattoos that are the problem it’s the individuals wearing them and the type of tattoos those individual’s chose. I think that some individuals should cover their tattoos up simply because of the type of tattoos with which they chose to adorn themselves.

I did see an interesting ... an offensive ... tattoo once. It was when I worked in a laundromat. It was a hot summer’s day in Las Vegas and a guy came into the laundromat to wash his clothes. He wasn’t wearing a shirt and everyone could see his body art. His back was covered from waist to just below the neck, with the depiction of a human hand giving the world the finger.

I’ve lived in Las Vegas long enough to know that when you encounter things you wouldn’t see in any other city, you just smile and go on with your business. If what is going on is illegal, then you call the police, but otherwise just smile and hope that whatever is occurring is not happening in the middle of the street and frightening the cars.

Tuesday, June 26, 2012, Day 26 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is Have you ever had to ask a stranger for help? Write about your experience, or write about your feelings or thoughts on this question.

Have I ever had to ask a stranger for help? It’s been a long time, but I think in my younger days when I still lived in Oklahoma. I drove to Ponca City because the guy I was seeing then was in jail and needed someone to pick him up and drive him back to Blackwell. Anyway, I didn’t check the gas gage before I went and I ran out of gas. I had to ask a stranger for some gas. He put enough in my tank to get me to where I was going and back home.

Wisdom comes with age
Experience = maturity

It’s all right to ask a stranger for directions and sometimes even help, but you have to be careful. You have to use common sense. You have to listen to your gut. If you get the feeling something isn’t right then it usually isn’t. I did many things when I was younger that I wouldn’t do today. I also listened to my gut less then. The gut feeling or institution (call it what you want) occurs for a reason. That reason is survival.

Random thought on this subject: A stranger is just someone haven’t been introduced to yet.

Monday, June 25, 2012, Day 25 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is Ponder the spectre of yourself as one human being in the over six billion people on Earth. We are so minute as to be nonexistent. And yet, we have the power to visualize, to imagine the entirety of the cosmos. In your journal, write about a popular movie, that most would know, and tell us what you would have changed, and why

one of six billion
visualizing the cosmos
life as we know it

It’s been a long time since I saw a movie. I’m trying to think about the title of the last movie I saw. I think it was one of the Lord of the Ring movies. It doesn’t matter because I wouldn’t change anything about most of the movies I’ve seen. Once I get into the movie, I sit there and enjoy the spectacle. I prefer movies with special effects. I prefer science fiction or fantasy movies. I prefer horror movies.

one of six billion
not so lonely any more
brothers and sisters

I sometimes wonder about life on other planets. I believe planets surround every star. I believe there is life of some type on most or all of those planets. I believe that life can take many forms. I know there is no scientific basis to some of these beliefs, but that may be because we are only at the beginning of exploring the universe and discovering the laws that govern the universe.

one of six billion
humanity is one race
Earth is its birthplace

Humanity, the human race, is on the verge of a great adventure. An adventure that will change the way we view our universe and ourselves. Most people either don’t realize or don’t want to think about what is happening to us in this present stage of our social evolution. The stresses and battles occurring in the present will forge humanity into the single race it was intended to become. Eventually, humanity will find a way to repair the damage we have caused our planet. Eventually, humanity will leave Earth and find a way to colonize all the planets of our system.

Sunday, June 24, 2012, Day 24 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is :How was your week? How did your fellow challengers entries resonate with you this week? Tell us who's piece is worthy of a merit badge.

I want a heat shield
protection from sunburn and
triple digit temperatures.

Thinking back over the past weeks makes me tired. I think I need to relax, go somewhere and have some fun. I’ve been under too much stress lately. I worry way too much over things that never happen. If writing didn’t help me I think I would just leave the computer off one day and curl up on the couch or the love seat with a good book.

I am addicted
to writing.com, blogging,
and surfing the net.

How was my week? Overall, it went all right. As usual the things I worried about didn’t happen, but then a friend once said ”The things I worried about never happened, what did happen was so far off the wall that I would never worry about it.” I’m not sure I can say that, at least not for last week the coming week I’ll see.

I cannot decide
which blog entry I liked best
everyone was good.

I did make one decision last week that may have some effect on my life. I decided not to watch Mom’s dietary fiber closely. They don’t worry about that at the daycare center so why should I. She has a prescription for the issue that too much dietary fiber causes. I’ll still read the ingredients on the labels, but that doesn’t mean I won’t buy the items if it has a lot of fiber in it.

Saturday, June 23, 2012, Day 23 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is Everyone talks about the weather but nobody ever does anything about it. Discuss in detail how the weather affects you and what sort of things you do or have done to cope with the weather conditions.

June is here at last
With its triple digit blast
I try avoidance

On June 1, 2012, the temperature reached 105 degrees for the first time this year. The weather bureau released an excessive heat warning which did not do me much good because I had no choice except to go out and conduct business. My method of dealing with triple digit temperatures is avoidance as much as possible.

Always plan ahead
Knowing when I must go out
Helps me remain cool

I plan my trips. I wear sunscreen. I carry one or two bottles of cold water. I drive with my windows down (this does not help much, but I have no other choice). Next week I am planning to go out Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and then the week after that the plan (at this time) is Tuesday and Thursday. I prefer to have a day between trips outside the house so that I can recover from the heat. It takes a while to become used to triple digit temperatures (if this is possible).

Remain hydrated
And plan my trips carefully
Take the quickest route

Since I am planning to go out on Monday, I will drink plenty of water and juice on Sunday. On Monday, I will take cold water or ice tea; something to keep me cool. I will get out early as possible, which means I have to be completely ready to go once the daycare bus picks up Mom.

Friday, June 22, 2012, Day 22 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is What is the "worst" thing parents do to their children? Bearing in mind this is a humor prompt and not an expose.

A sense of humor
When dealing with your parents
A necessity

I’m not sure at what age I realized a sense of humor was required when dealing with parents. Let’s face it, all parents embarrass their children at least once in their growing up years. If the children are lucky, their parents embarrass them more then once. The more parents embarrass their children the more stories the children have to relate to their children about their childhood.

An embarrassment
Catching your parents kissing
In the living room

I’m attempting to remember some of the thing my parents and grandparents did that were embarrassing when they occurred, but were funny after few years had passed. It takes a few years to laugh at some of childhood’s embarrassing moments caused by parents.

An embarrassment
Father carrying shotgun
Meets daughter’s first date
At the front door

The way my brother related the story to me was that the father of one of his girlfriends (I’m not sure which one, but I think it was his first wife) was sitting in the living room wearing a white t-shirt with a hole in it and cleaning a shotgun. My brother (with the sense of humor he has) thought that was what he should do when his daughters started dating. I don’t think he ever did that, but then I’m sure he did other things to embarrass his children.

Parents are required
To embarrass their children
Encourage humor

Thursday, June 21, 2012, Day 22 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "Housework is overrated. Yes or no?"

Daily mundane chores
Bottomless laundry hamper
Full ... overflowing

The answer to that question depends on how I feel at any given time. I know that sounds like a copout, but it just depends on how I feel and how well I am focusing on the mundane. I believe focus is the key to doing housework. I can set my priorities, but if I am unable to focus on a given task for one reason or another, I toss the priorities into the recyclable bin.

Daily mundane chores
Dirty dishes in the sink
Check the dishwasher

My grandmother was a wonderful housekeeper. Grandma did not believe housework overrated. For her it was a labor of love, which bordered on an obsession. If grandma could not sleep, she would get up and do housework. I, on the other hand, take a different approach to sleeplessness and insomnia. If I cannot sleep, I get up and work at the computer, read, write in a journal, say prayer, meditate, or do Sudoku. I believe housework is something you do in broad daylight with all the curtains open and the lights on.

Daily mundane chores
Is housework overrated
Yes – when I have something else to do
No – when I need a reason to procrastinate
Maybe – when I am bored or depressed

Wednesday, June 20, 2012, Day 21 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "Talk about your high school days."

What is there to say
Concerning my high school days
Teen anxiety

All right, my high school years were better then my years in Junior High. Years it sounds as if I am talking about ages or centuries. True it felt like that at the time, but the few years between entering high school and graduating was not that long. Thinking back, I remember the years in high school fondly.

The move in between
Junior High and High School made
Made a difference

We moved from Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Shawnee, Oklahoma, between my Junior High and High School years. It was a big difference. In Junior High I went to an all white Junior High School simply because Blackwell was a sundown town at the time. This was before integration. However, when I moved to Shawnee I entered an integrated High School because there was only one High School in Shawnee. It did not matter whether you were white, black, or Native American if you wanted to go to High School in Shawnee you could attend only one school.

Never attended prom
Sometime I wonder if I
Missed something or not

I did not attend my Senior Prom. Sometimes I regret not going even if I did not have a date. Sometimes I am glad I did not go. I graduated from High School in the early-late 60s. The national historic event that stands out during my High School years was the murder of President Kennedy in Dallas, Texas.

Tuesday, June 19, 2012, Day 20 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "If I could give one piece of advice to any person in history, that advice would be..."

Question everything
Continue asking questions
Never stop asking

Simply because someone is an expert does not mean that person know everything. Do the research and find the answer for yourself. Search for truth independently and make up your own mind about any subject whether it is politics, religion, or ancient aliens; look at the evidence and the answers to your questions.

Listen to your gut
Follow your intuition
Decide for yourself

Too many people accept an idea because it is from an expert. Too many people accept an idea because it is something “everyone knows” is true. Too many people accept an idea because that was “how they were raised”. Too many people reject an idea because it does not sound logical or is weird.

Individuals are capable of making up their own minds they just have to do the research. Individuals have to look at the information they find and ask the right questions to determine if the information is valid.

Question everything
Question reality and illusion
Question your own perceptions

The human mind is a marvelous creation. Intended for us to use to help humanity and the individual carry forward an every advancing civilization. To use it properly, an individual has to learn to ask questions and find the answers for him or herself.

Exercise your mind
Ask questions to find answers
Make up your own mind

Monday, June 18, 2012, Day 18 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "Some critics believe that you need a special poetic language when you write a poem, while others say that ordinary language is perfectly all right. Which side are you on?"

The poet’s duty
Is to write about the world
And humanity

Ordinary language is poetic language. Ordinary language because poetic language when used in a poem. I write poetry for two reasons reasons. First, I have no other choice; I have to write. Poetry is an obsession. Poetry is an addiction. I can put it off for a little while, but not very long. I write poetry to remain sane.

Soul whispers to mind
The words form stanzas and lines
Dishes go unwashed

Second, I write to express my vision of the world; my worldview, which is different from the worldview of every other human being on Earth. I write in America English because that is the only language I know. When I write a poem then ordinary America English becomes poetic American English.

The poet’s vision
The poet’s worldview expands
With age and wisdom

All of my life experiences contribute to my poetry and my worldview. My poetry and my soul evolve with the passing years. At one point, I wrote in flowery language, which people referred to as poetic language; however, we do not use flower or poetic language in everyday life. A flowery language puts more readers off then it attracts.

A poem language
Needs to attract the reader
A welcoming voice

A poem without a reader is a tree falling in an empty forest. I makes a sound, but who is around to hear it, to be effect by it. In order to reveal a different worldview or some aspect of ordinary life in a different way the poem needs an audience. A poem needs a reader just as the wind needs someone with ears to hear it blow.

Poetic language
Ordinary language phased
In line and stanza

My week went quickly
Triple digit temperatures
My days went slowly

The triple digit temperatures are here to stay. I don’t enjoy driving any more because of the lack of a working air conditioner in the car. Every time I drive it’s the “blow dryer effect even when the wind isn’t blowing.

Saturday Sunday
Very little accomplished
Stayed indoors all day

I had to go out twice during the week. Therefore, on Saturday and Sunday I remained indoors. I didn’t do very much except rest and recover from the heat. I did make one important decision; I decided to make my trips to the store, bank, and other places every other day this summer. Sometimes I will go on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Sometimes I will go on Tuesday and Thursday. That way I have a day to recover between trips into the triple digit temperatures.

Weariness sits in
Up after midnight writing
Where did the time go

In triple digit temperatures, I can’t focus on more then one thing at a time. Sometimes it’s difficult to focus on doing one thing. The best thing I did no Saturday was to sit down on the couch and doze.

Saturday, June 16, 2012, Day 16 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "You just won the lottery! However, the catch is that you MUST spend all of the money in a single store or chain of stores. You are NOT allowed to donate or gift the money in any way. So, which store would you spend your lottery money in?"

Please no jewelry
I want new technology
Computer system

Since I have to spend the money in a single store or chain of stores, I would go to Wal-Mart. I chose Wal-Mart because I can get everything there I want. I can buy food, clothing, some types of furniture, and technology.

Make a careful choice
Take several days to buy things
Use a shopping list

The best way to approach this type of shopping trip is chose a store that has a variety of items. After I chose the store, I then make a shopping list of everything I need. After making a list of everything I need, then I make a list of everything I want. The next thing to do is to decide who goes with me.

Never shop alone
Always take a companion
To make shopping fun

Shopping with another person is more fun and two people can think of items not put on the shopping list. In addition, another person can give opinions on whether or not the color of the clothes and the style look good. I do not like shopping by myself. When I have the chance to go shopping with someone, I jump at it. Perhaps it is a woman thing, but shopping by myself is no fun.

Never shop alone
Because it’s an addiction
And that is no fun

Friday, June 15, 2012, Day 15 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "Boy, was my face red when ..."

It’s embarrassing
So why do I always laugh
At least a weak smile

When was the last time my face turned red? Probably the last time I stayed out in the sun too long. I sunburn quite easily, but turning red with embarrassment is a completely different story. I may get embarrassed, but I seldom show it. Sometime a nervous laugh or a weak smile; that’s about it.

Show embarrassment
Do I talk excessively
Make nervous gestures

Boy, was my face red when ... When? Under what conditions? It’s either been a long time or I’m having a senior moment. Maybe is was so minor that I just laughed it off or look furtively for an escape. When I was younger, I obsessed over embarrassing moment. By obsessing, I’m referring to the thoughts that ran through my mind. Thoughts such as “How stupid could I be?” As the years passed, I’ve matured, grown wiser, just don’t give a dam, or am prone to hysterical laughter. Let me see if I can think of one or two incidents.

Boy, was my face red when ... I realized or was told I was tone deaf. I tried out for a choir and the direct want me to try different notes. I thought I was singing them properly, but apparently I didn’t know the difference. It didn’t stop me from singing. I still sing every chance I get. However, I do sound better in the shower.

Boy, was my face red when ... (all right, as I said before my face doesn’t literally turn red when I’m embarrassed) ... when I get my food on my clothes. Let’s face it, when I go out to eat I should take a poncho with me to completely cover my clothes. Another think I should never wear when I go out to eat is white. What I need are clothes made out of material that changes color when I spill my food on them. My clothes should change to the color or colors of whatever food I spill on them.

The wounds of hatred
Bleeding into campaign ads
Party line = no compromise

I am 65 years old. I have voted in every presidential election since I was 21. I have never seen so many vicious and hate filled campaign ads as this year. I am almost tempted to do one of two things on the first Tuesday in November. That is to either no vote at all or vote for none of the above. Of course, I will not do either. I will go to the polls and vote for someone.

Truth is sacrificed
Upon the alter of lies
Patriotism = party line

I am registered nonpartisan. When I moved to Nevada and registered in this state, I changed my party affiliation. I am glad I am not one of the soldiers on either side in this presidential campaign. I am collateral damage.

The 2012 Presidential Election is tearing the United States apart. It is dividing it along socioeconomic and party lines. Small truths are woven so well into a tapestry of huge lies that it is difficult to tell the difference between truth and lie in any of the commercials.

Wednesday, June 13, 2012, Day 13 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "Tell us what you like about your life."

What is there to write about my life?
Each day is full of joy and strife!

I’m not sure that there’s too much more to write about my life that I haven’t all ready written. However, I will attempt to write something new and, hopefully, wonderful, as opposed to new and mundane.

This morning, rather then being in “deep dark depression and excessive misery”, I’m in a positive mood. Yesterday, I was a bit depressed, but yesterday it took the versus detection program 10-hours to scan my computer. True, I had to pause the scan so that I could keep a doctor’s appointment at 9:30 AM, but since the scan started at 3:14 AM I was already pissed by 8:00 AM, when I had to start getting ready to go.

This morning, it took the program started about 3:04 AM and took about 35-minutes to scan my computer. Neither one of these scans found any warning or threats. I don’t think the length of time the virus scan takes has much to do with my mood, except that it pisses me off when it takes too long.

Today’s a good day:
A free verse and two haiku
Written before noon.

I think the amount of poems I write in the morning has more to do with my mood then how long it takes the virus scan to run. Since Mom doesn’t leave the house until about 8:10 or 8:30 AM (whenever the bus picks her up), I can’t do much work online while she is hear. I’ve been waking up between 2:30 and 3:00 AM, the alarm on my phone is set to 3:00.

I get up, take my first med of the day and turn on the computer so that it can begin the virus scan, which is actually set for 11:36 PM, but won’t run if the computer is in hibernation. Then I give Mom her first med of the day and take a bath. About 3:30 I began chanting God’s Most Great Name and a couple of other prayers. At 4:00 AM, I take my second med and then do whatever I have to do before starting to get Mom up at 5:00 AM.

I’m tired writing this
I want a long vacation
No work before noon

It takes about 30 minutes to get Mom up, changed, and into the wheelchair. I have a GATE belt to help, so I don’t worry about her falling any more. Still she weight 140 lbs. even with the little help she can give in this situation its sometimes difficult. Once I have Mom up and into the living room, then I start giving her the rest of her medication. I can’t give her all her pills at once because if I give her more then one at a time, she wants to spit them up.

The C.N.A. comes to give Mom her shower between 7:00 and 7:30 AM. After Mom is dressed, we sit in the living room and wait for the bus to come and pick her up. During the week, Mom eats dry cereal without milk for breakfast. For some reason she doesn’t want milk or anything else on her cereal. If she has rice for breakfast, she will accept sugar and/or cinnamon on it, but no milk. The weird thing about this is that she will drink a glass of milk for breakfast, but she doesn’t want it on her cereal.

After Mom leaves then I’m ready to eat my breakfast and take the rest of my morning meds. Unless I have to go to the store, doctor’s office, or bank this is the time I attempt to work online between household chores. Because of the condition of my legs, I have to rest between household chores. Resting is usually sitting down at the computer, all though sometimes I turn on television. The problem with turning on the T.V. is that I sit there and go to sleep.

So, where is the strife in my life? After rereading everything I’ve written, I suspect I don’t have as much strife as I thought. Maybe the strife is all in my head and I’m just worrying too much or making “much ado over nothing”.

Tuesday, June 12, 2012, Day 12 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "Tell us about the area you live in."

First, I’m writing about Las Vegas, Nevada, and not about Las Vegas, California, or any other city by this name in the United States or any other part of the world. I want to make that clear from the start because Las Vegas, Nevada, is unique.

Supposedly, this is the one city in the world where everyone wants to come and lose their money on the Las Vegas Strip or the Boulder Strip or Downtown or Henderson or North Las Vegas. I could continue for two more paragraphs (at least) about where hotel-casinos are located in the Las Vegas valley (or as one of the meteorologist once called it the Las Vegas Bowl). You see, Las Vegas is surrounded by mountains, so contrary to popular opinion it isn’t a valley, but a bowl.

Cities in the Las Vegas area are Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Boulder City. Townships in this area are Paradise, Winchester, West Clark County, Enterprise, and I’m sure there is one more, but I just had a senior moment; maybe it’s Clark Country, but that doesn’t seem to make sense. Anyway, all these cities and townships are in Clark County.

This past weekend the Electric Daisy Carnival brought non-gaming revenue into the city. Then there is the NASCAR race. Both the Electric Daisy Carnival and the NASCAR race occur at the Las Vegas Speedway, but not at the same time. The area also attracts the rodeo and circus. In addition to these, we have homeless people and homeless shelters.

There are also churches, temples, masque, etc. Las Vegas is a multicultural city (true there are people who don’t want to recognize the fact that this is a multicultural city, but it is). People actually do live in Las Vegas and a number of those don’t gamble. I’m not sure what else to say about this beautiful desert city because you have to live in it to believe some of the things that go on here.

I just thought of two more attractions in Las Vegas. We have the Mob Museum and the Neon Museum. Las Vegas means The Wells.

Monday, June 11, 2012, Day 11 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "Tell us about a family visit; either you visited them or they visited you. Recently or long ago. Good...or bad."

Family visit
Sister brother and nephews
A short reunion

My sister, Faye, came to visit last Wednesday or Thursday, June 6 or 7, and left today, Monday, June 11. It was nice having her here. Mom enjoyed the visit. On Friday, the C.N.A. (not the regular one) was late; so I had to give Mom her bath. My sister helped me and I’m not sure I could have bathed Mom with Faye’s help. It was nice having my sister here all weekend.

On Friday, one of my brothers and his sons came to town. The didn’t stay long because they came for the graduation of one of my brother granddaughters. My brother, Frank, and my sister went to the graduation. I would have liked to go, but for that to happen I needed to get someone to stay with Mom on Saturday morning.

If I get someone to stay with Mom, I have to plan at least two weeks ahead. because once I find the person, preferable a woman, I have to bring her into the house and introduce her to Mom. Mom gets upset and angry staying with someone she doesn’t know, so it just doesn’t pay to upset Mom.

Anyway, Frank introduced Mom to her grandsons again. Mom doesn’t remember them from one time to another. Each time she meets to two boys her face lights up and she is happy. That is one of the advantages of short-term memory lose; each time Mom meets someone she has forgotten it’s as if she is meeting them for the first time. If it’s a grandchild or great grandchild then it’s a joyous occasion every time.

Meeting her grandsons
A joyous experience
Each time they visit

Sunday, June 10, 2012, Day 10 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is Tell us which of your fellow challengers entries resonated with you. or Tell us about your week (blog!) or attempt both!

Resonate entry
Maybe I should take some note
Memory is slipping

The blog entry the resonated with me was "This one's about the proverbial "last goodbye".. I liked the letter. I had to read the entry twice before leaving a comment. I don’t know where my mind was the first time I read {suer:fivesixer}. Any way the letter got to me and I think writing a letter to people before one’s passing is a good idea. I like this phrase, watch out for karma, and I think it is a phrase that everyone should remember.

Las Vegas summers
Triple digit temperatures
I want a new car

It’s been a long week. On Thursday, the Doctor removed the bandage on my left leg. My sister has been here for the past few days, so I haven’t gotten as much written as I wanted. It been a weird, or maybe weird isn’t the word for it, anyway I have accomplished as much as I wanted.

I’m using the alarm on my phone rather then the digital alarm clock. At least, with the phone I don’t have to worry about the electricity going off and screwing up the time. It’s summer or almost summer in Las Vegas and periodic brown outs are possible. At least with the phone it tells me when the battery is low.

A positive mood
Encourages my muse and
Shortens upset rants

Saturday, June 9, 2012, Day 9 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "You are about to die, but have the chance to speak to one person before you pass. Tell us about that conversation."

Do not cry for me
I pass into paradise
Immortality

I do not want you to worry about the location of my soul. The death of my body opens the door into eternal life. At death, my soul passes behind a curtain that hides my true self from those on the material plain. My spirit, my soul will continue to live and thrive in the world of God.

Death an illusion
My spirit is deathless
Passes into life

When my body and soul separate, I want you to pray for me. I will continue to pray for you. In the divine world, I will walk through the Garden of Paradise and eat the fruit of the Tree of Life. My soul will continue to mature ... to advance through the worlds of God ... through the Gardens of Paradise.

We will meet again
And there we will celebrate
At the garden gate

I want a closed casket funeral, with a photo of myself on top. I would prefer my life be celebrated rather then my body’s death. Make this a celebration of my life and play Amazing Grace. Then at the gravesite have someone read the prayer for the departed revealed by Baha’u’llah.

Do not cry for me
I pass into paradise
To eternal life

O SON OF THE SUPREME!
I have made death a messenger of joy to thee. Wherefore dost thou grieve? I made the light to shed on thee its splendor. Why dost thou veil thyself therefrom?
Baha'u'llah, The Arabic Hidden Words, #32
