In my view, the primary focus should be on encouraging the writers to write. I do not review items I don't enjoy anymore because I see it as a waste of my time. So, if you get a review from me, I enjoyed reading your work. The amazing thing about this whole process is that reading an inspiring review usually leads to me reading more of a reviewer's work also. So, it's a win-win.

something I do not like. I do not enjoy writing hyper-critical reviews. I do NOT believe that "honesty" is a synonym for "mean." If I see someone being "mean" here on the public reviewing page, in group behaviors, or just acting as a bully I will not send them my reviews. The only exception to that would be judging a site contest - there all items get honest (and hopefully diplomatic) reviews of the work from me with no exceptions.

*Thumbsup* My favorite is Diamond because of being vegetarian. But they all sound like very pretty felines. This made me want to go to the cat cafe and look in their eyes.

Very imaginative and creative! I could picture them all and they looked like they were ready and willing for an exciting adventure series!

*Cool**Idea* I thought about how hard it is to start anything, especially in this fast-paced world. We all have our anxieties and trepidation about starting new things if we are normal I think.

Trying is half the battle. Never give up trying is a good way to go. If things don't go one's way, take a break and come back stronger than ever.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I was particularly moved by this part:

"A stranger in a strange land,
barely noticed,
he walks the earth receiving no more than a glance,
attention eludes him,
yet still hopes for a chance to dance"

I think a lot of folks will identify with this as we all want that chance to dance and be noticed for the positive we do.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think that the young do not appreciate their elders until it is too late to do so. It seems to be worse now with all this communication that goes on. I know someone who has had their child move in with them (with a group of added-ons) and now has to take legal action to get her house back. When young people cannot do for themselves it seems they have to blame someone and listening to those who know better doesn't seem to be on the menu.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This was my favorite portion:

"Why lament if a window is found closed?
Why not open up another instead?
The weathered ones are with wisdom endowed,
They can turn into love what was hatred."

Once we get to a certain age and know loss, we can bear it better and make better choices. I don't think the young understand or appreciate the luxury of being able to turn away. It comes with time.

No family unit is perfect or ideal. Problems arise everywhere that the older generations and the young have to live together.

I thought this was eloquent and moving. Well done.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think there are more with empathy for others than you think. In every disaster I can remember there are those who come and quietly help out. Still the media loves these sociopaths and they all bellow for attention whenever someone else has a tragedy. It is so predictable anymore that there are those in the media who try to jump on something awful and ride it to stardom.

We feel, but I don't reject either side's ideas for solutions. I think there is exploitation enough for many lifetimes that goes on whenever there is a horrible event or someone in need.

That is humans for you.

Your poem flows well and the rhyme is (best I can tell) true. There is compassion. It's within anyone who wants things to get better and definitely not within those soulless creatures who would exploit a horrific event.

This part was all too familiar and sadly moving:

"You took a creature's life today,
Took away its right to live,
Simply because it was in your way,
No compassion would you give."

*Cool**Idea* I think that love and betrayal go hand in hand too many times. The tragic thing is that the one doing the betraying isn't worth spending any time on for the other, the one who is devoted. The final ending, while designed as a punishment, might even be a sort of release. These sorts of serial betrayers never change.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This part was very moving:

"I would take you back in the end.
How could I live without my dearest friend?"

This is mistaking an enemy for a friend and could have enormous consequences for all those who truly do care and I am sure there are a lot of those.

Powerful poem about a road that leads to disaster. Someone I loved dearly took that route of suicide and the guy who cheated on her is happily six years down the road cheating on his new women. They never change and they don't care, these sorts of guys.

Sad to say.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* Love is a funny thing when it is real. I think in the beginning it is usually largely based on physical attraction and, if people are lucky, something more intangible and undefinable as in who we bond with and form friendships with.

To make love last, you have to be friends to each other and maybe friends do even more. That's what friends do, real friends.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This was my favorite part:

"We fall
to the unkind
challenge of age and pain.
Fatigued but together
our journey traced
by love."

We all get our challenges if we are lucky to live long enough. I only hope I am up to whatever life and God have in store for me. I pray a lot that I am strong enough to face things. With that love and caring, I think that we will find a way. Hope so, anyway.

*Cool**Idea* I thought this was brilliant. You excel in your description of the surroundings, I could picture an idyllic afternoon in my head, at first. Well, I won't give the ending but the story takes a couple of surprising twists. The setting was magnificently described. I could picture it all in my mind.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

You pack a lot of drama into a few short paragraphs here. So, everyone got what they wanted in the end and no one truly loved anyone. Sounds about right for humans.

What does HOOves think about and contemplate while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I have watched the Big Brother thing in the summer. This sounds like the petty bickering and some of the contests that I saw. I think that SMs would make a great host, with all due respect to Julie Chen.

The stuff about Dragon and the bacon was too funny. Sorry you got voted out in your own story. Well, given the atmosphere that could have been planned I guess. The whole thing that happens with the real show seems more scripted to me. This seemed like it would make a better show.

What does HOOves applaud and moo about while reading your item?

All the squabbling about food was funny. You did not really have an Omarosa bad seed type, but I liked it better that way.

I was interested to read about what you liked about writing and to write about as a child. I always liked Babar the Elephant stories and things about Dogs and Cows. I don't think that ever changed. It is what I like to read and write about most I guess. Isn't it funny how what we read as kids still influences us. I wonder if it would be different with no Babar and not having real cows to visit at the grandparents' farm. Something to ponder, anyway.

*Cool**Idea* Well, after a lot of time I think even interplanetary stars realize when it is time to hang things up. Wanting to hold on to the trappings of success without doing the work is quite a human trait, but they can be forgiven for that. I think it's a natural progression.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

Knowing when to hold them and when to fold them is a gift that not that many are blessed with. The cloning seems like a good way of keeping one's hand in the mix.

I thought this was very clever and imaginative and says a lot about people of all sorts who just can't walk away from the day to day.

*Cool**Idea* You did a fine job of keeping to the syllable count required for the haiku.

I always have found that snow is a thing that produces more bitter cold and more snow. It's like a cycle that goes on in winter. The forecasters don't always get that after a snow there will more than likely be some very cold, windy days with more snow.

*Thumbsup* Well, the snowman would even be happy to stick around, I imagine. His survival depends on the cold so he's all good.

*Cow* You sent me some nice reviews so here I am moseying over with a Tuesday morning review. I thought I would read your Dear Me item. Hopefully they will announce the results of that before we are too far gone in the New Year. Where there's life, there's hope I guess.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I am sorry to hear that 2017 was rough. I think it and 2016 were pretty hard for a lot of people. Do not exactly know why. I hope that 2018 ends up being better for you.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I think the writing is a good thing. I figure if I just do it - reading, writing, reviewing for the I Write activity and otherwise, I am bound to be better at the end of the year. Already, it's kind of a bit of busy work that forces me to focus on the writing and not some of the superficial stuff that goes on otherwise on the site, like socializing on the Newsfeed. If I do what I need to do with judging, reviewing, writing, etc., I barely have time to glance at the social stuff. All's the better.

Then, I was ill a bit, but I made myself do it. That works out good as an incentive to get better. There is a level there with I Write, where it's not really judging writing, just the fact that people do the work is enough to be proud of work done.

In that way, it reminds me of Soundtrackers which was never a competition. It was more about enjoying music and sharing it. TO me, I Write, is about finding a way to enjoy writing and sharing that too. I have loved the reviews I've gotten from posting there so far, from you and from others. It's been a very enjoyable thing that's not tied into the silly group power struggles that go on sometimes.

Very refreshing! I liked this - it was concise and to the point. I get where you are coming from and I say go for it! *Thumbsup*

*Cool**Idea* I guess what you are saying is that a lot of the stuff that seems depressing this time of year is in the attitude of the depressed. That could be true. I am fearful of this time of year and maybe it is somewhat of a self fulfilling prophecy that it seems to bring out the worst in people.

I think I need to adjust my attitude, although now that I feel better things seem to be improving. (Knocks on wood)

The rhyme flows very well and your words are carefully chosen to show the reader the way to go.

Take heart and never speak of gloom!"

I wonder if I made a conscious effort every day to find the positive if this would make things better all around. Trying to do things differently cannot hurt because so far January and February have been a rough road health wise. What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* The title of this wonderful and heartbreaking poem caught my eye immediately. These tears honor someone who has been lost and that is something that is hard and it is a difficult thing to be reminded of on special days like Valentine's Day. As years go by, we all have our share of losses of those that meant the world to us.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This part stays with me:

"An immortal Valentine rhyme,
Asking to be more than just a friend,
It spoke to my lonely heart."

People that truly speak to our hearts out of the goodness of their own are few and far between.

It is a memory to be cherished and honored with poetry such as this.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think that this is a beautiful and romantic use of language. Every word seems to me to be carefully chosen to create a mood laced with love and anticipation. It is perfect for the month of February!

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This was my favorite part because of the picture it conjures up in my head.

"a dust of diamonds
in the midnight Galaxy
glitters high above
an outdoor dance floor empty
all but for one lone couple"

I was married one February, long long ago and I still remember and feel the things I felt then when I read such evocative writing.

Brilliant!

*Cow* I clicked on Rate and Review that SM told us about. Before I didn't realize it was just authors who were active. It is a nice way to support those who support the site with current writing, by reviewing.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* This could have been written this week in the aftermath of what happened in Florida. You know a poem is powerful when it stands the test of time. You wrote this in August of 2010 and it's more true about humans with every day that goes by.

The rhyming couplets work well to tell the story of the birds and nonsensical humans, too.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

"But they’re safe from me, I’d never kill a thing
Especially something so beautiful on wing"

There is a big difference, as you say, between killing to survive and killing because of an inherent evil within. Humans are the most evil ever. And sometimes the vicious attacks groups make on individuals are horrific emotionally and mentally, too. As far as I know, birds and animals are a lot more straightforward in their dealings with others. It is not hard to figure out where they stand.

Very moving poem that makes me admire the birds, but not so much the humans.

Well done.

What Do hooves and Basset Hound Boo think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* We thought about Spring time and how much we enjoy regular baseball. Something Spring is definitely in the air today! *Tulipr*

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

Well, to me this is more exciting than the real Olympics because it is creating something that you can then photograph. When I was younger, I enjoyed watching all the competition, but not so much anymore since NBC is such a political tool of the far left.

All the training and effort makes us root for the home team, but in the end it is something intangible (almost) that tends to win. That is fun to watch, but I am not so sure it is fun to be a participant. Well, you never know until you try. It is that refusal to give up that makes champions.

Inspiring and heart warming story that came across better than the real Olympics does. Nice work!

What I liked best when I grazed in your pasture and did I swish my tail?

*Cow* You sent me a review recently notifying me that I would be in a newsletter for an older poem. I figured I would mosey over and review some of your work and here I see you have a fresh poem for me to enjoy! Sorry for the delay, have been a bit under the weather, so to speak.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think we all have the power to do this and take charge of our own happiness. Sometimes it is definitely more difficult than others. When there is a loss, particularly, it is hard to snap back or even to climb out of the sadness.

But we all make those choices sooner or later, if we are lucky to live long enough. I am closer to my end then to the beginning (I certainly hope, lol).

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This was my favorite part:

"The Clock of Choices was ticking down: it was time
to make changes. No one else could have power
over me, but me."

Once you really grasp that concept and the power that we all have, if only we choose to use it, life becomes a lot more enjoyable, despite the challenges we all face.

We all have our own dragons. I am sure a lot of folks will identify strongly with the struggle and the desire to overcome and even triumph.

*Cool**Idea* This is a love that has stood the test of time. Sounds like you both are devoted to each other. Sometimes time can drive a wedge, but it seems to have made you closer to each other.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This part was especially moving:

"You are my Darcy, my heart and the love of my life.
We have been through illnesses and been there to
hold each other's hands. I almost died. You stayed
my side and were there when I woke up from my coma."

It is wonderful that he did that and that you appreciate it and all that it means.
