" A victor only breeds hatred, while a defeated man lives in misery, but a man at peace within lives happily, abandoning up ideas of victory and defeat."

- Siddhartha Guatama Buddha

An amazing piece of advice. I see Christ in the words. We can be our own worst enemy comes to mind.

"Jesus is Lord (1 Corinthians 12:3). That is the single, central, foundational, and distinguishing article of Christianity. It is also the first essential confession of faith every true Christian must make: "If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved" ( Romans 10:9).

The belief that someone could be a true Christian while that person's whole lifestyle, value system, speech, and attitude are marked by a stubborn refusal to surrender to Christ as Lord is a notion that shouldn't even need to be refuted. You cannot remove the lordship of Christ from the gospel message without undermining faith at its core."

From Zondervan

Each morning I recieve both a reading from the Good News, as well as a piece of writing from Zondervan, a bible and faith group.

The text I recieved this morning I found very enlightening and thought it a good idea to share it with you. I hope the message finds a place to rest in your kind heart.

"If the people of God were to transform the world through fascination, these amazing teachings [in Matthew 5-7 , the Sermon on the Mount,] had to work at the center of these peculiar people. Then we can look into the eyes of a centurion and see not a beast but a child of God, and then walk with that child a couple of miles. Look into the eyes of tax collectors as they sue you in court; see their poverty and give them your coat. Look into the eyes of the ones who are hardest for you to like, and see the One you love.

God loves good and bad people. Even God doesn't grasp for the knowledge of good and evil but sends rain to water the fields of both the just and the unjust. That's why enemy love is the only thing that Jesus says makes a person like God--perfect."

Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without coming away better and happier. Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without coming away better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness.

He who loves, never grows old. God is a shining example. You may feel that in this world, some people are very bad. But by feeling that a person is very bad or by hating that person, are you gaining anything? That particular person has not gained anything from your hatred. And what have you done? By hating that person, you have lost something very sweet in yourself. Why should one lose something very precious of her own, just because she wants to correct someone by hating him? In this world, we have to be very wise. You will say that he is very bad and that you have to do something. But hating is not the right instrument. If you want to use the right weapon, the most effective weapon will be love.

- Sri Chinmoy

How's that for some great inspiration?

"Know that each thing in the universe is a vessel full to the brim with wisdom and beauty. It is a drop from the river of His Beauty...It is a hidden treasure because of its fullness. It has exploded and made the earth more brilliant than the skies."

"There is the essence of God and there are the attributes of God. The essence is impossible for us to understand. We can begin to understand the attributes. In fact, part of a Sufi education is to understand those attributes in yourself. God has said, "My servants will find Me as they see Me." This does not mean if you think of God as a tree or as a mountain that God will be that tree or mountain. If you think of God as merciful, or loving, or as angry or vengeful, that is how you will find God."

- Muzaffer Ozak

There's a lot of knowledge in that intuitive statement from Muzaffer Ozak. Leaving the recipient with a great, and attainable, power of conviction. Manifesting warmth and kindness, with love and what the Lord asks us to emulate. Which I think is a standard we each carry as citizens of the community we live. Congeniality, gregarious, and charisma, are traits that emerge when we see the Light in our lives, and the amazing power, faith in God bestows; the Holy Spirit to all who ask; sometimes even when we don't.

I lambaste myself sometimes like a leather lashing Friar. Lashing relentlessly upon thoughts of times past, and they repeat on loop mode.

With my sacrifice of pain, I humbly ask that the Lord accept as my own small token in relation to what we submitted Jesus too. The Good News is seen by the faithful as our guide as Creatures of God. My acceptance of The Good News gilded with my own interpretation, as well as the Church being anchor, from which is my guiding Light. The Church is Christ. The collective of our Church is the living Lord alive and well in each member of the congregation; growing and evolving through Devine Intuition. Manifest through how we present ourselves to the world, and those close to us.

The Good News message is to love God; (God created everything and we are God's masterpiece. And if you don't like that, then how about the fact that our species is on top of the pyramid; masters of our destiny. ) Love ourselves, and love our neighbour. Three simple clear synopses.

When Jesus gave the Sermon On the Mount, his message gave guidance on who we are, and our paths as women and men of God. Now listen, you can take my word for it, or you can go do some investigation of your own; JESUS the CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD. Mary, flesh and bone just the same as you and me, is the MOTHER OF JESUS. JESUS THE SON OF GOD is a man who was sent by the FATHER (God) to REDEAM US HIS CHILDREN, HIS LOVED MASTERPIECE. Jesus was tortured and crucified, so my pain is small penance. So when I get myself into the state of reliving sad and heart wrenching things, I must release myself to the will of the Almighty granting ease.

The vessel of growth in my life is exactly that, "MY LIFE". My life is lived every minute of every day centered on management of my mental & physical being; acute interference.

I wish you wellness, and the warmth of the Spirit!

Wear a smile. It was almost like a little light clicking on; that little spark of existance. (You know when we see the ignition and it's complete enrapture until the chemical burn has been eaten and has now produced a temperature now strong enough to catch fire to the stick of wood that the head of the stick has been emerced into. ) Coming to me like a little piece of Enlightenment. I really do think that sometimes the best thing to do is keep smiling, Our species likes to feel envolvement of happiness and ease of Spirit.
