In my view, the primary focus should be on encouraging the writers to write. I do not review items I don't enjoy anymore because I see it as a waste of my time. So, if you get a review from me, I enjoyed reading your work. The amazing thing about this whole process is that reading an inspiring review usually leads to me reading more of a reviewer's work also. So, it's a win-win.

I will not review...
something I do not like. I do not enjoy writing hyper-critical reviews. I do NOT believe that "honesty" is a synonym for "mean." If I see someone being "mean" here on the public reviewing page, in group behaviors, or just acting as a bully I will not send them my reviews. The only exception to that would be judging a site contest - there all items get honest (and hopefully diplomatic) reviews of the work from me with no exceptions.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I like how you are always researching and learning new things about Jane Austen. She is someone who is so interesting to study. She did a lot of things and wrote a lot of great stories in her short life. I can't think of another female author who is as interesting.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

That quilt made with all those fabrics really made me sit up and moo. Holy cow! That is a lot of color, I bet! I would love to see that in that museum. You never know, I might travel there some day and see it. I bet it is gorgeous to see it in person, but it would have deteriorated a lot, I imagine. Still, with all her writing, she managed to work on a big quilting project. How much fun would that be. No TV, Internet or other nonsense to distract - just writing and quilting. That sounds pretty nice to me as long as there was a puppy around in addition to the kitty cats.

Sounds like such an ideal life for the times, doesn't it?

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think we have dreams of things until we can't do it anymore. Even if we are sick and in a care facility, there is the dream of going home to cling to. Maybe we revisit our dreams when we get up in our really old time years.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

It is hard to move. I have a house where we have replaced everything. I cannot think of a thing we haven't replaced since moving here 10 years ago. I don't know if I can do another move, but this house has stairs.

Tuesday night we came home and the garage opener thing started making a weird noise and smoking. So, we had to get that repaired yesterday. Well, now it's good for a while. If we move to another place we will have things go wrong again. I don't know if it is worth it to get rid of the stairs. We live in a small city and everything (doctors now) is convenient to where we live. But, if there is a riot or stupid thing going on then we will be close to the bad stuff. So, it's a trade off. I like my house for the most part and nothing is perfect. I know what you mean. But, for me, Washington D.C. area will always be home and I think for Mr. hooves Texas will always be home. It's just that we can't really practically live in DC. Maybe Texas, though. You never know.

*Cool**Idea* I think violence has always been around. We hear about it more because of too much communication too quickly these days. But, the 1930's were very violent also. I think that things were really bad in the late 1970's too and this stuff goes in waves.

*Thumbsup* I think that all will be answered for in end or else what did it all mean, anyway. It has to mean something that we try and lead a peaceful and loving life. Somewhere that has to mean something or else nothing means anything.

*Cool**Idea* Congratulations on the Rising Stars deal! That is so awesome and Web Witch is one of the best ever here, which I am sure you already know. She is aces in my book.

Have fun with the whole thing is my best advice. Don't let it stress you out too much.

*Thumbsup* I like that you are into it and care about what happens. I think 90% of the people here go awol at times. Hopefully, that won't be an issue because we all have real lives to write about. If we didn't, we would just be writing about stuff we experience on here and that would get pretty repetitive after a while.

You have to go out in the real world in order to stimulate your imagination. Flights of fancy are encouraged in my galaxy. Hey, but what do I know. Not that much really.

But I know that you are a very talented writer and the shoe being on the other foot, they should be honored to have you. There's that to consider, also.

You'll do great with it, I have no doubt. Bravo!

*Cool**Idea* I think that change is the one thing we can always count on. I am very scared of it because the big changes haven't been that great. Some have been downright awful. The gradual change is better.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I guess we all have to learn how to live with the change that comes our way and that is out of our control. And when we make changes, ourselves, we should try and be kind about it I guess.

I am not sure what else to say about change. I don't really like it. My Dad always said I had a very hard time with it. My brother doesn't have the same thing, though, which is weird. He loves change pretty much.

*Cool**Idea* I think that a fresh start is a good thing. A new year is a cutoff point to do that. Well, I hope your Christmas was a good one. Ours was nice, but quiet. Still, can't really say it wasn't nice. I am always relieved when the whole thing is over.

The highlights for me were watching Love Actually and Gilmore Girls.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

*Thumbsup*I think that college is pretty much a better experience for those kids who like to learn. You obviously love reading and like to learn so it is no wonder you thrived in a better atmosphere for learning. I think that schools, more and more, are sewers.

If I had young kids today I would send them to Catholic school or home school. Forget the public ones.

*Cool**Idea* All those authors sound interesting and they are right up the vampire alley there. They sounds like they all portray vampires in a positive lights.

*Thumbsup* Wow, Melody Thomas Scott is a blast form the past. I read the book that Jeanne Cooper wrote about her time as Mrs. Chancelor. She had a lot to say about Nicky (Mrs. Thomas Scott) in that book. You might enjoy it.

Eric Braeden has always fascinated me, but I remember that first guy who was Jack. Terry something. Victor is very mysterious, isn't he. That show has lasted a long time so it is a good show. It has outlasted most of its competition.

I liked the original Ashley and Victor together, too.

Brings back memories to think of Nicky. She lives a glamour life there. I think she would be an interesting character to play.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I have a friend who lives in Melbourne. She says it is more European than the other cities in Australia as they have a lot of different people and ethnic groups there. Lots more restaurants of European flavor and that sort of thing, less British I guess. Also, they are more tied to a University there than other cities are so its very upbeat and an active cultural type setting.

You make it sound very inviting. I wish I could go there, but it's too far away and the plane ride would be too long. I bet it is so beautiful though.

*Cool**Idea* Your wonderful story revealed the kind nature of a loving and interested Aunt. I have a few of those wonderful angels, myself. They saved my bacon a few times over the years.

I liked the notion that maybe the best gift of all was the one that the Aunt gave. That is a pretty awesome message for the holidays when everyone is so focused on accumulating material stuff. The things that matter are usually straight from the heart and a caring nature.

*Cool**Idea* I thought you did a good job with the prompt and with portraying the predicament one would be in if not paying attention during the wrapping process. Not having the numbers add up is a nightmare, to be sure! This was funny and delightful and any of us who have wrapped while fatigued will identify!

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I liked the part about Lance maybe getting the doll best. I think at that point all the truth would come out about the confusion. In this sort of a situation a sense of humor is madatory.

Very clever poem and your rhyme flowed very well - I enjoyed it very much!

I think that it shows that everyone has an angle. That is the sad truth of the human condition. Even if someone does something out of goodness, someone else can turn it into something bad in the blink of an eye.

It's a good message to know that we all can get tricked if we let ourselves believe in things and, especially people. Well, at least he might benefit and that's what was intended, even if it wasn't in this way.

I was shocked at the ending - fine writing here. Usually I see things coming, maybe I was softened up by too much holiday egg nog.

*Cool**Idea* Lucy is a cat with an attitude. I like that in a cat because you must have a superior position at all times when you are dealing with other (not so smart as Lucy) animals and humans. It is neat that her offspring follows in her paw-steps, too.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I definitely could relate with Lucy's take on the vet. This is a place to be avoided if at all possible and to communicate one's displeasure involving a trip there.

I think you did an excellent job with the prompt and with capturing the personality of a beloved cat who knows the score.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* It sounds like gathering the ingredients for the scrapbooking is a lot of fun. I have a lot of things that I might like to scrapbook or at least organize at some point. I have trouble focusing on what I need to do. Well, maybe in 2017 I will get focused.

You have done a lot in 2016 with your award winning Newsletter. You should be very proud of that as well as your other writing. You always write things that I enjoy reading. And your Prince challenge brought a lot of people together who enjoyed Prince. I learned a lot there about his writing and his music. You should feel real good about your accomplishments in 2016.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

*Thumbsup* I think that looking forward is always good. I was thinking about another campfire, but then I think well we write a lot otherwise anyway. But those always were a lot of fun, weren't they? Maybe in 2017 there.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think that the wolf has a very noble existence. I have never been afraid of wolves as they are so close to the hounds that I love. They just live a different sort of life that depends on hunting instead of being fed and pampered.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This was my favorite part:

"he listens
for the howl of pack mates
or the crunch of snow
under the weight of his prey."

The crunch of snow can mean different things to different creatures. But, to a wolf it means dinner.

You have captured the life style and how they make it through the winter. Sometimes that can be a challenge even for those of us who live indoors.

*Cool**Idea* I thought about how Jackson knew which way to go and he guided the family to safety. It made me wonder why Mr. Davis had so much control over the family's comings and goings. This sounds like an unusual arrangement, to say the least.

When you say Proclamation, I am wondering what that is. Is it the Emancipation Proclamation or a fictional sort of thing?

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I like to read that Jackson's offspring is carrying on the tradition of looking out for the loved ones. A loyal pup can be a godsend in so many ways. Jackson the frisky younger still has a family thanks to his father.

That sounds like a very good thing to me.

*Cool**Idea* I was rooting for Megan at first. Then when I learned about Kathi, I was rooting for Kathi. Whoever I was rooting for wasn't getting a good go of it. So, I figured that maybe being a victim is in the eye of the beholder here, in more ways than one.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

So, even in dreams, Megan got the upper hand. That is scary to think there could be such a turnaround as this.

Very scary and I was wincing as I read about what was happening. It does not seem like it is ultimately any kind of warm welcome for poor Kathi.

Creepy, scary story Angus. I hope it doesn't give me nightmares. Revenge on a bully always sounds good until the tables get turned as they always seem to be.
