Chapter #3

The power of Math!

The Split Split Fruit! You are a fraction man! You can divide yourself into multiple copies.

You waste no time and experiment with the ability.

"Half." You say and suddenly your vision doubles. Or perhaps it might be better to say that you are seeing in two places at once. Looking at the side and you get to see your mirror image or maybe you should call it your other half?

Essentially it is an exact copy of yourself and you are seeing from both bodies at the same time. It's a little disorientating you admit to your self. You aren't one or the other, you are both. So it feels strange to act as two. Another crucial detail is that both bodies are exactly half the height of your original self.

The fruit didn't produce matter for the copy, instead it divided you into the copies. Essentially cutting you down to size for each subsequent split.

Trying it out again your left form says "Twelfth".

Your toddler sized right form looks as the left one splits into twelve finger sized copies. Now you are looking out from thirteen sets of eyes and you almost puke from the dizzying sight.

That said, in a few minutes you start to get the hang of it as you learn to focus your mind into one body or the other.

With more control over the power you continue to experiment. You get some of the copies to get back together. When they combine they get bigger again as you expected.

At the same time you send some to head out and see if the distance affects you in any way. It doesn't.

Some of your smaller selves eventually reach the town on the far side of the island and explore it at their diminutive size.

You also split your traveling parts to see that you can still do it far away from the others and you can do it without issues.

Well there wasn't any issues with the power itself. The only issue was your careless approach to experiment on a more populated segment of the island. While your bug sized selves where practicing in a city path a giant woman neared in a bright sun dress.

Not used to avoiding walking giants, two of your smaller sides met an untimely end at the sole of her high heels.

The pain of getting step on and crushed was a feeling that all of your multiple copies felt at the same time and would rather forget if given the option.

Dreading the loss of a part of yourself, you started to panic until a clone close to the incident suddenly grew three times his size.

It turns out that if a portion of you dies, the matter of it will be transferred to your nearest self. That was reassuring fact.

Still the pain of death was excruciating and you hoped to never feel it again. Not that you will let that deterred you from your plans.

All of your fractions could move on their own and you plan to exploit that to the fullest.

You will send out an army of your tiny selves to every corner of the world. Knowledge, secrets, privileged information you will learn it all. Power, skills, ancient techniques you will train in all of them. Pirates, kings, navy officers you will infiltrate all organizations.

Your little selves will be everywhere learning, training, and creating contacts so that when they finally come back together, you will be an expert at the pinnacle of the world.

Months later one of the copies finds himself at
