"Oh shit." Horace said, backing away from the windows. "Elissa, call the cops!"
"It's not going through!" she said, yelling from behind the counter. "It's just goes to an automated message!"
"Wait, what?" Ian said. "I had no idea it could even do that!"
"It's not supposed to!" said Horace, looking out the window. "Elissa, just keep trying that while--we..."
The ponies were on the very edge of the parking lot right now, lumbering closer and closer. Even in the darkness, what little Horace could see reminded him, much to his immense discomfort, of videos he had of wolves stalking their prey.
"---Ian." Horace said. "Help me block up all the windows and doors, all right?"
Ian began to say something, but Horace ignored it as he began to grab chairs and tables and began to push them towards the many windows, haphazardly pushing them in front of the many openings as best he could.
As Horace worked (and as Ian and Melissa soon followed), every single way in and out of the place was blocked by a number of plastic tables and chairs, in addition to a few of the larger and bulkier appliances that the three had been able to push out of the main kitchen. Although the makeshift barricade was more than a little ramshackle and bare, the sheer amount of stuff in the way, if nothing else, at least looked like it would make trouble for anyone trying to break in.
"This is nuts." Ian said, panting away. "Why would any of these lunatics try to break in over fast food?"
"Are you really going to take that chance?" Horace said. "How many times did you almost loose a finger or two because some unicorn wanted his burger faster?"
Just as Ian was about to make some snippy remark (and then stopped when he realized that what Horace had said was entirely true), the three suddenly became aware of the many eyes on them. No matter where they looked now, the ponies were crowded all around the building, crammed into each and every visible spot along the door and windows, all looking particularly intent on getting inside.
"LET US IN!" one earth pony said, slamming a meaty fist into the door.
"We're closed." Horace said, raising his voice as to be heard through the glass. "And even if we weren't, we wouldn't have anything to give you."
"COME ON!" a unicorn said, her face locked in a grimace of pain and anger. "WE KNOW YOU'RE HOLDING BACK ON US! JUST LET US IN!"
"YEAH DO IT!" another unciron said, quite literally slamming her had into the window. "COME ON!"
"JUST GIVE US WHAT WE WANT!"
"JUST LET U GET WHAT WE NEED--"
"WE'RE HUNGRY!"
"FUCK OFF!" Horace said. "GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!"
The crowd outside went silent. After a few moments of the uncomfortable silence, a few of the ponies in the window were suddenly bowled aside as the blue unicorn who had just tried to get in through the drive-thru came into view.
"TRIXIE HAS HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR INSUBORDINATION!" the blue unicorn said, her voice loud enough to make all he ponies around her wince. "EITHER YOU LET US IN, OR WE LET OURSELVES IN!"
