Chapter #6
The barricade doesn't hold.
by: Unknown
"LET! US! IN!!!" An earth pony at the front of the mob screamed, smashing through the window with a pudgy, yellow fist. The crowd's passionate cries were rekindled, and resumed beating down against the windows with enough vigor to embed cracks into the reinforced glass. One pony even shattered a window by hurling in a concrete trash can from the drive-thru, replacing the pulverized glass with a fistful of obese equines fighting to get in.
"Sweet Jesus..." Horace whispered, too stunned to move until Alissa and Ian pulled him into the kitchen by the back of his uniform.
"This is fucking insane!" Ian exclaimed. Two more windows were shattered, and the outcry of the enraged herd was further clarified. "What the hell is going on?"
"I don't know, but whatever it is, we can't give in!" Horace laid down.
"Come on, man, all they want is burgers! Can't we just-"
"Ian, listen, I think Horace's right!" Alissa agreed. "We don't know what they're capable of!"
"Besides, what's the plan when we run out again?"
"Okay, fine. There's that. But hey, what the hell can we do?!"
"Hide." Horace stated. "Hide it out, and if things get worse, do our best to blaze through."
