This choice: The barricade holds.  •  Go Back...
Chapter #6

The barricade holds.

    by: Unknown
"ALL RIGHT, THAT'S IT!" the blue unicorn said, screeching the words at the top of her voice. "WE'RE COMING THROUGH!"

With one mighty roar, the whole mass of ponies began to smash themselves against the windows and doors, throwing all of their voluminous weights against the structure. The whole building suddenly let out an enormous groan of sheer pain as the ponies slammed into it, and the thee found themselves running into the back area of the building.

"We're screwed." Ian said, looking out from under the counter. "What do we do?"

"Well," Horace said, thinking frantically. "Te only thing we can do now, I guess, is just give them what we want and hope they're placated."

"But we don't have anything to give them!"

".....Yeah."

The three huddled underneath the front cash register, listening to the ponies yell and roar and screech as they slammed themselves into the building, the sheer amount of noise getting louder and louder d louder--

--until, that is, it suddenly grew quiet.

"....What's going on?" Elissa said. "Why haven't they broken through, then?"

Horace and Ian looked at one another. "You look." Ian said.

"Why should I?"

"Because I--well, hell, I'll so it." said Ian, before shaking his head and shoving his head up.

"....Well?" Horace said, looking up at Ian. "What is it?"

"Come take a look at this."

As Horace and Elissa did just that, they saw that, despite all evidence and common sense to the contrary....the windows and barricade had by some miracle held. Although the doors and windows were distinctively signed up and cracked, they were somehow quite intact....and the ponies outside, by contrast, now looked tired and worn, seemingly exhausted from their attempts to break through.

"Oh, God." Elissa said, beginning to giggle. "I just figured out why they couldn't get in."

"Wait, how?"

"They're too big." Elissa said, her giggling only becoming louder and harder by the moment. "They tried to push through but they just kept forcing each other away and bouncing off one another."

"Shit." Ian said, giving out a little giggle as h did so. "That's--oh, no."

As the three looked back to the windows, it was only now that they noticed that the ponies were beginning to collect themselves again...and, rather unnervoingly, were looking even angrier than before.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. The ponies try to find another ay to beak through.

2. The ponies try to use diplomacy to get what they want.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
