This choice: until new players arrive • Go Back...Chapter #6until new players arrive by: HJeff   Even though your parents think you're at a baseball camp, and won't be looking to see you for three days, doesn't mean you want to spend all night to get a game started. You were already excited when Elizabeth had to remove her boots, and were hoping to see more.
Fortunately, you don't have to wait long. The guy who took Elizabeth and all the other shooters away comes back in.
"Normally, we try to group these things along a theme," the guy explains. "That's at the girls' request. They feel more comfortable, and enjoy the conversation, even if their worlds don't have anything in common." The guy shrugs. "I don't understand, but then I'm just a background character. Sometimes we have a waiting list, though, of a girl who wants to get in on a game. So tonight, we asked the girls on the waiting list if they would mind jumping genres if it meant they could get in a game. Nobody minded. So they should be here shortly."
You thank him and go back to waiting.
Pretty soon, you hear laughter and conversation coming toward the door.
When the door opens, the first two women to walk in are Tifa Lockhart (https://banner2.kisspng.com/20180526/izk...) and Cassie Cage (https://static1.thegamerimages.com/wordp...).
You're kind of surprised to see Tifa there, but then you think, maybe she's trying to cheer somebody up.
Tifa is laughing at something that Cassie has said. When Cassie catches you looking at them, she laughs and says, "Don't worry about how I'm dressed, kid. They caught me before I started my workout. So I'm still fresh as an Irish Spring."
That got another laugh from Tifa as the two headed toward the table.
The next two women who entered the room were Nadine Ross and Chloe Frazer (https://i.ytimg.com/vi/_AGCX_dV_v8/maxre...), who were in a deep conversation. They looked up and nodded at you before taking their seats.
Nadine took a seat by Cassie. As soon as she did, Cassie stood up and asked, "Tifa, would you mind changing seats with me?"
"What is your problem?" Nadine said, coming to her feet.
"My problem is that I don't sit next to mercenaries." Cassie responded, and you're wondering if there's going to be a fight. If there is, the only thing you'll be able to do is find a place to hide and hope you don't get hurt.
"Hey, she doesn't do that any more," Chloe interjects, also coming to her feet. "And anyway, it's not like there's ever going to be a crossover between our worlds."
"Friends, friends," Tifa interjects. "We're not being very nice to our guest," she says with a smile to you. "Cassie, switch places with me, and everybody, apologize to our guest."
In your humble opinion, Tifa could probably kick everybody's ass in the room, all without breaking a sweat. But she is probably also the one person who want everyone to get along too.
Everybody nods and says "sorry, kid" to you as Cassie and Tifa switch places. Then Tifa says, "And I think, as a gesture of camaraderie, which should all let our hair be loose." With that, Tifa undoes her braid and shakes her hair loose. The other women shrug and follow suit.
"Okay, if we're done with the camaraderie phase," Nadia interjects, "How about we play some cards?" This got a laugh from everyone in the room, and you feel the tension go down several notches in the room as the cards are dealt out.
