Jack was much more confident now that he had a relible weapon to defend himself with, though he still exercised extreme caution as he made his way to the elevator. As soon as it arrived he got on and headed to the ground floor, ready to escape this hell once and for all. All he had to do was get to his car in the parking lot and he could drive and drive until Rustone was out of his life forever. "Maybe I'll head to Canada next, more snow, but less zombies." He joked to himself to keep his spirits up. The glass door opened with a soft ding as Jack stepped out into what remained of the lobby. The whole placed looked like a massive crime scene with dozens of bodies laying about, some in pieces, some little more than a bloody smear with a few entrails. Over on one of the walls were the words "help me" written in blood just above a corpse with her stomach carved open. "Jesus H. Christ..." Jack wispered as he stood for a moment to take it all in.
Once he had regained his senses he stepped forward towards the front doors across a room that seemed to be a mile long. Footsteps echoed throughout the large room as Jack stepped carefully around dead bodies and their luggage in the eerie dimness. "Of course the lights had to be out..." He said sarcasticly as he tried not to imagion what might jump out at him from a dark corner of the room.
Just as he was about to push open the doors that would lead to his salvation Jack felt a chill run down the back of his neck as something stirred in the darkness behind him. He turned around and was met with the most horrifying sight of his life. There, in the darkness, was a large humanoid figure with glowing red eyes and a pentagram mark taking up most of its forehead. Even in the poor lighting Jack could tell the thing was smiling at him all the way from the other side of the lobby.
A second passed as Jack stuggled frantically to find the strangth to push the door open before the abomination charged at him with a mighty roar. "OH SHIT!" Jack swore as he accidentaly shoved the door open behind him, causing him to fall onto the hard sidewalk outside. The warm sunlight was hardly a blessing as Jack hurried to his feet and was horrified to see that the thing had already made it through 2/3 of the lobby and was about to tear through the door. Mere seconds before the impact Jack managed to dive off to the side to avoid the blast of metal shrapnel and glass that exploded forth as the level 3's powerful claws obliterated one of the doors. The second door soon followed as the powerful zombie took its first few steps outside, its eyes searching for the man who had just narrowly avoided a quick and painless death at its hands...
