Chapter #2

Susan Tanner

    by: BeeJay Author IconMail Icon
My name is Susan Tanner. My friends call me Sleuth, because I'm always trying to figure out what's going on. My teachers call me "problem child," for the same reason. One day, something happened to me that I'm still trying to figure out.

It was a couple weeks before school started. I woke up and headed for the shower, like I did every morning before. Certainly, I had no idea anything strange was about to happen. I was really enjoying the shower, until three things caught my attention.

The first strange thing was that I was suddenly looking into the showerhead. I tried to close my eyes, before any soap got in, but I just couldn't. Then, I realized: My eyes were already closed. I could see through my eyelids!

As I was wrapping my head around that, I realized something else was amiss. Even though I was standing under the showerhead, I couldn't feel the water.

I looked down to see where the water was going, and the third weird thing hit me. I couldn't see myself. I knew I was standing there, but there was no sign of my body. In fact, the water from the shower was going through me. As if I wasn't even there.
