** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **

This treatise is the result of a visit to church 1-18-09, and a song that became the root for the acrostic Worthy Is The Lamb, on 1-19-09 the second acrostic was gelled into the first.

"Come a little closer
Oh do not fear these are
Merely for show it's been an
Eternity since I've used them last.

Are you not the brave Conquistador?

Little 'ole me can't make you shiver so
It's my desire to bring warmth and wonder.
Take my hand, if you will, and let me lead you
To a land that so few have the privilege of seeing.
Let me show you a place as soft as lace.
Each petal upon my rose is eternal here. No dust

Can be found in this pristine village.
Look there in the cottage is my beloved,
Oh mister Conquistador why do you shiver so?
Step closer and you will be warmed very soon
Every step you take can you not feel the temperature
Rising. What is it, good sir, why do you look so pale?

Come A Little Closer Mr. Conquistador and let me wipe that blood off your neck.
There there now, isn't that better? Here now we have arrived ah but wait, I haven't been quite truthful with you I'm afraid.
Come A Little Closer Mr. Conquistador and let me drink of
your blood once again and then we can descend into the pits
of hades and live happily ever deadly, just you and me, The Rose of Toreador."

I enjoyed the water and the points were extra well done.
You are important to God; therefore you are important to me.

I wrote this in Acrotic form as a result of a challenge in the myspace community wanting us to write in free verse.
Let me know, those of you who are aware of the workings of free verse if I succeded in doing one.

Free Verse. Is It Really Free?
by Steve Cope
03-04-09
A Nav Press Free Verse Challenge

Free verse is a style that has none
Reaching into the basket of words
Even checking under the sometimes vowels
Every line is intended to convey a message.

Very nice and fun it is to write in the Acrostic form
Each new line affords an opportunity to
Roam over the lands of imagination and
See where it leads. The topic of this acrostic is the
Ever deceptive concept known as

Free Verse and almost anything goes from there. Free Verse, though I must ask

Is it really free? Are there really no restrictions
Serving the purpose of structuring, if only by eliminating the

Items of import to the standard poem
The one restriction that hampers it more is end line

Rhyme and Iambic Pentameter must remain, but this writer
Effectively does not understand the meaning of that phrase. So
A glance at the dictionary, and what does it reveal?
Lines that create a rhythm within, a flow if you will of the poem, aha!
Look there that is the clincher, there is a limitation that still remains,
Yes there must be rhythm within but hey no rhyme at the end.

Free Verse Is It Really

Free? Why yes I suppose it is as long as you follow the
Required restrictions and include rhythm and a pacer if you will.
Every line with a cadence that keeps the flow going and in the
End what you have is a question that has been answered or has it?

Free Verse, Is It Really Free? You decide.

The Executive

The Pryncessa Divine was an artist, poetess and one
Heck of a good person all around.  But did you know her
Educational goals were business related?

Every day, can you imagine, Pryncessa strolling into the office
'Xecuting executive orders with the greatest of
Ease and flashing her smile that stops the world for a moment.
Capturing those she leads with the desire to push higher and further.
Unparalleled would her career be for she knew how
To pursue a goal when it was presented.
In the experience of your servant in Christ, there was
Very little of that side she mentioned for her true calling in my mind was the
Ever amazing art and poetry she produced from her heart and soul.
and now unfortunately

The Executive has been silenced in life but her voice lives on in the memories and pictures she left behind on myspace and other venues she frequented while she loved her world and grew in her skills.

Cookies are delicious
On the run or standing
Over the oven sneaking a bite.
Keeping one for your lady love
Is a romantic interlude, ti's true.
Every bite and nibble precious.

Cookie for you, one for me too,
Unbelievably warm and
Tasty, what more does one need?
Two glasses of milk please!
Even if it is a dirty glass, it's okay.
Right about now all you need is a

Cookie Cutter and a sheet pan. and soon you will have dessert in the round.

"I'm offline", at least that's what the status said.
My where could they be and what could they be doing?

Oh how remarkable it would be if we could have a window
Focused on the environs of one who is offline. What would we see?
Follow me and let us see.
Look there's the author now, sleeping away so peacefully,
In the kitchen a rustle can be heard and a squeak!
Now look, the author is startled awake and up flies the bat
Expertly hung at the ready by the ex-soldier ready to defend.

Almost on instinct the author looks our way and says rather rudely.
"Hey! I'm Offline!" Or so the status says. I wonder what would we see if we had a window focused on the author. Follow me and let us see. . . . . .

See you when I get back on. Off to myspace and no peeking!

The Whopper
by Steve Cope
02-20-2009

When you go fishing
You may get lucky and catch a whopper.
But more than likely by the time the story is told
The only whoppers will be the ones you buy from the store in little boxes, covered in chocolate.
I like those whoppers better than the whoppers from the deep blue sea,
'Cause then you gotta to clean those fellers and that's one whopper of a task.

The Whopper. Which do you prefer?
*Bigsmile*

This was the result of random thoughts that came to mind right after I had written to a friend on Facebook about the Food Pantry we do at our church.

Time is fleeting and oh so aging one might say.
Time; like the tide; marches on moment by moment.
Time is a precious thing and you must make
The most of it before it is too late.
Time flies like the sands through the hour glass.
Time comes and time goes, what will you do with
The time you have?

Time is a precious gift and
In the interest of brevity one
Might miss that one moment in time
Elevated just a bit more to a higher priority.

Time does not slow down, but we who are but
Flesh and blood, must needs to take some moments in
time to serve the needs of others.

Time, what does it mean to you?
Is it a nuisance you trudge over?
Is it a commodity you use to your advantage?
Is it something that you struggle against,
Because you feel it slipping away?

What does time mean to you?
