If you could undo ONE thing you did in the last year, what would it be and why?

One Thing? Come on....lots of things....The ONE theme all relates to tragic job seeking mistakes.

Top of the list of things to change is to do the Dislocated Workers program immediately after my boss died instead of waiting. Next I would have run unemployment out. Then I would have read the job ads very carefully so that I would not get passed over on a technicality. Lastly, I would not have gone to a chiropractor that messed up my back so bad. so Yeah, Year from hell.

There were good things as well. Just the bad things were so immense. Glad that the fiscal year stating April 1 is starting out so much better.

Consider for a moment that a church is not God, just the place where you go to visit with God for a moment in a manner that is comfortable for you.
Consider for a moment that God moves faster than zero, and yes, He can be in all those places at one time and visit with you in your preferred manner.
Consider for a moment that you don’t know everything and what better place than a church to learn something that will get you to the end of your days in the best manner available.
Consider for a moment that God knew there would be doubters, so He sent Jesus back to the room of Disciples and displayed his wounds long enough for the reality to set in and the faith to take off.
Consider for a moment that God loves you – really loves you – no matter what – even if you can’t or won’t love Him back.
Consider that Jesus loves you and will help you, all you have to do is ask
Consider for a moment that we are in the last days and that Jesus will return before you know it. It will be too late once he gets here.

"The Vermont bill raises the age for gun purchases to 21 and expands background checks for private gun sales. It also bans magazines of more than 10 rounds for long guns and 15 rounds for pistols as well as rapid-fire devices known as bump stocks."

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/in-gun-friendly-vermont-lawmakers-pass-firearm...

Do you agree or disagree with the bill? Do you think it will make a difference?

I agree with the bill in part. Hunters and protecting your home from invasion do not need an assault weapon. You just need to know how to use the weapon you have and it will be enough. If you can't take down a deer in 10 shots or a home invader in 10 shots, then you don't know how to use your weapon and need to take lessons.

If a kid is old enough to join the service, he or she should be old enough to purchase a weapon.

Enough said.

And special note to school age kids. No more walk outs. When you announce shit like that, you give ample warning and targets for the crazies who think they need their name in the paper.

Chiropractors should be your last choice, not the first choice. I found out the hard way. Now instead of dealing with a nasty form of cancer, I get to deal with it with a lot of pain. Knewtsen Chiropractic in Excelsior Minnesota is the worst. They hurt me, exacerbated a very serious medical condition and they made me pay for the pain they inflicted on me. Hate them.
While you are well, go get a baseline full body medical work up, full blood and systems check up. You do it for your car, do it for your body.
Then when you are feeling odd aches and pains, don't chalk it up to growing old, go in and do another full body and blood work up.

My car is possessed. I was sent on a mission to buy food. So I get to the place and decide to take two minutes to see if I am close to the address. Patting myself on the back for finding my way out of a paper bag, i get out of the car and Hell's Bells, lights flashing, horn honking, dashboard going nuts. I tried to start it but it refused. And the ermergency blinkers were just a pain in the patootie, where are those things when you don't need them? Anyway, I got out of the car, and key locked the door, and then she was happy. I was pissed, but she was content that she sent for the sheriff when there was no crime.
I told this story to Paul the lawyer and he said better to be possessed than repossessed.
Thanks, Paul. That puts it all in perspective.

Prompt: Mark Twain said, "To succeed in life, you need two things: ignorance and confidence." Do you agree or disagree? What do you think is the key to success?

Boy, ain't it the truth. More people get ahead just because nobody told them it could not be done than any other thing. Once you are going, and things are working out, and the negative gus comes along, you have the confidence to tell them to go blow.

I think another thing that helps is that it never occurs to the successful person that the outcome would be anything other than what it is. When you fly without a plan B, you make it work and try all sundry of things to reach the goal. And you will reach it.

A Navy Seal was once asked what it took to get through the testing and what was the testing. The Seal would not say what the testing was because it is personal to that person and based on psychological tests that the person had to take. His best advice was "Don't quit." He explained that the tests are so personal that you will want to quit at every stage, and the only thing that would have prevented him from completing is if he gave up or quit.

So, winners don't quit. Define the win and go for it.

"Where have you been?"----- Make up a creative reason for being late to an important function.

I had been working in the legal field for a while when I chance to meet Trudy, the perpetually late secretary for my boss. She was very creative. Dan, the office manager set up a chart and when she came in with an excuse for being late, he would put it on the chart. It became a game. "Trudy, you used that one yesterday." and she would have to come up with a different one. Sometimes, she actually had some really unique ones and he got to make a new entry on his chart. He loved those.

My favorite was "My cat ate my alarm clock."

That's not true, my real favorite is "Trudy, I don't want to hear it. And why are you wearing your shirt upside down?" "I spilled something on it and I felt I had to let it dry, but I put it on newsprint and it seeped through and I didn't want it to show, so I put it on like this to let it dry."

I'm telling you, Trudy has you all beat. Truth is stranger than fiction and Trudy was stranger than all of you put together.

There comes a time when every life goes off-course. In this desperate moment, you must choose your direction. Will you fight to stay on path? Will others tell you who you are? Or will you label yourself? Will you be haunted by your choice?

We are all given an inner voice that will lead, guide, protect, rejoice, cry, all those things for you. Whenever I am knocked off my path, I know it is because I was running down the wrong path without care or concern with what was going on around me and who would be impacted by my choice.
The only choice I am willing to fight to the death for is my Creator. No one can use my children, my husband, my home, my possessions, my life as a bargaining chip. If I have to be a martyr, and I don't want to be, but if I have to be, I will.
All choices made in desperation are poor. Pray about it, get right with God and go. If He brings it to you, He will bring you through it. And there will be no regret if you take the path God puts you on. You only run into trouble when you try to make it on your own and put possessions in front of people or get off the God Path.
I label myself, mom, wife, sister, daughter, friend, neighbor, author, recruiter, paralegal, court reporter...But the only one that matters is Christian. Only you can tell if I hit the mark.
There are tons of choices that would have put me on a different path. I can let them haunt me or I can let them go to enjoy the time and space that God has prepared for me. I choose to enjoy my life and the people who are in my circle.
That's all.
Peace and God Love You!

Motivational Monday! Musician David Bowie, born on this day in 1947, once said "All my big mistakes are when I try to second-guess or please an audience. My work is always stronger when I get very selfish about it." How true (or false) is this about your own writing? What's more important: pleasing yourself, or your audience?

WHAT A CROCK! All entertainment is based on pleasing yourself. The success of your talent is pleasing an audience.

Selfish? How dumb is that? All talent has an agent to promote them and you can't be selfish.

The truer statement is Egos or I goes. Stated by Fergie of Toto. The biggest mistakes for talent in any industry is to not listen to the ones who buy what you are selling and your agent who has the pulse of the demands out there.

Woohoo, it's the first Saturday of the new year. What cartoons as a child did you watch on Saturday morning? Do you ever get tempted to watch cartoons now?

I love this prompt. I will say that the today's cartoons stink. I love the cartoons from the 60s. I can't think of one that I don't like. But my favorite by far is Droopy -- anything with Droopy. You remember that dog that says "That makes me mad" then takes the villain by the foot or tail, bam, bam, bam on to the ground with an overhead arch in between, then spins them over head and sends them sailing to God knows where. I wanted to do just that to John Kirby and Gary because those two stinkbutts would not leave me alone. They are solely responsible for me not dating, talking to, working with, naming a baby (or pet) by either of those two names.
That's all. Thanks Lyn! Good memories
