Jake having seen this paperboy deliver papers knowing it would most likely be safer inside the bag then being in a newspaper being thrown against a door or onto a roof, decided to find a safe place to hide in the bag. Figuring out that the paperboy would leave the papers at the bottom of the bag for last Jake dived into the mass of papers to reach the bottom. When he gets to the bottom of the bag Jake notices there is a small hole in it, not large enough for a paper to fall out but still big enough that if he wanted to he could make it through it. Looking down Jake sees that escaping through the whole now would not be a good idea for he would fall what to him looked about ten or eight feet while moving at a run, plus the fact he would have a fifty-fifty chance of landing either on the sidewalk or inside of the paperboy's shoes. While Jake had been thinking about all this the paperboy had finished all but one of his deliveries. As he reaches for the paper his hand hits Jake making fall to the hole in the bag.
