Chapter #7

Shannon, the dark side of the plush

    by: Chibichan Author IconMail Icon
Shannon looked down kinda confused at the seat. Someone had either left behind their tv remote, or a really thick mp3 player. Not really caring either way, she scooped it up and threw herself down in the window seat.

On the ride back to the town house complex where Shannon lived, she looked the remote over in her hands. It was the stupidest thing she had ever seen. The labels and such on it seemed to imply it could make things smaller. Which of course, just isn't physically possible! Well, of course that's what Shannon thought.

Stomping off the bus, her tough grey boots, almost like work boots, clomping on the sidewalk, Shannon walked to her home. Tired out from walking down near the beach, because she had nothing else really to do, the goth was miserable. Her boots of course were way too hot, but she really didn't care. Of course, her entire black attire didn't help the heat situation much either.

Wandering into her place, the door was already open and she grimaced at the grimey entrance way. Her room mates that she had lived with for years now were always so lazy. Unfortunatly, so was Shannon, she just never let that point be made.

"Alexis! Tanya! I'm home! Is the freakin cable fixed yet?" Shannon bellowed, closing the front door. Enjoying how it made the entrace hall dark and shadowed.

A girl with blonde hair, streaked pink, ducked her head around the corner. "Whatcha yellin for dark stuff? Had fun at the beach?"

Shannon grumbled, "The guy didn't show up. I sat out on the stupid park bench for almost two hours in the sun, waiting for a stupid nerd!"

Pulling off her boots, the angry goth wandered from the wood floor in the hallway onto the soft carpet that felt good against her damp bare feet. Flopping out on the couch, next to the recliner her friend sat in.

Almost glaring, Shannon looked up her friend. Alexis was the girl who had poked her head around the corner. The blonde girl with pink streaks in her hair was actually quite regular really. An average, sorta thin sorta not build that Shannon held great envy for. Alexis liked to show it off too. Wearing only a light white tank top, and a pair of faded blue shorts. Her skin was so pale though, Shannon couldn't help but wonder which of them went outside more. She still had on her necklace too, a trinket her boyfriend had given her. Which only made Shannon feel worse to remember her friends new love.

"Ah don't let it get you down Shan Shan, the guy's probably held up in a basement somewhere, asleep after playing those role playing dice games with his friends all night. You know how they are. He's probably crazy into you because the goth thing drives him wild," Alexis offered finally.

Cuddling down onto the couch, Shannon pouted and looked over at the tv silently. After a few moments she finally asked, "So where's Tanya." Then the goth quested her plush hand out to grab a bowl of chips from the table that she started snacking on.

"Oh upstairs or around. Hey I have an idea!" Alexis said excitedly, sitting up from laying with her legs over the edge of the chair.

Shannon was almost afraid to ask, "What now?"

"Why don't you invite your friends over tonight? Well you know, whats his name and his friends. The role players! They could come by, have a game here, we all have some snacks, and he gets both things that he loves!" The crazy looking blonde was actually completly wrapped up in this idea.

Rolling her eyes Shannon rolled over and grabbed the phone, "Fine! But I'm telling you, I think the guy just doesn't like me."

"Oh and Shan, you may want to stop wearing those boots in the summer. Whew," Alexis laughed lightly and smiled at her friend almost aplogetically.

A tall brunette haired girl stumbled over to the archway leading into the dining room. Wearing a blue rock band tee shirt, covered by a grey overshirt, and her usual, rolled up light gray khaki's. "What's going on?" Tanya yawned, stumbling slightly as she stepped on some cereal left on the floor. She seemed like she just woke up.

"We're having a role playing game night for some of Shannon's friends," Alexis explained. After Tanya didn't respond much besides staring on with eyes half opened she added, "With lots of snacks, maybe we'll get a pizza!"

"Oh, hey thats cool. Has anyone seen my lil digital pet thingy? I love torturing that little thing. I'm sure there has to be a way to make them die off eventually," Tanya mumbled as she flipped a seat cushion on the couch.

Shannon held up her hand as someone answered her phonecall, "Hi! Jeff? What? You slept in? Yeah, but I wasn't there too long I guess. Hey, we were talking. If you and the guys don't have a place to role play tonight, you can stop by over here. Really? You want to? Sweet! See you this afternoon!"

Hanging up the goth fell back laughing. "See? Don't we look after our own here Tanya?" Alexis chirped up.

"Hey that's great. Cool my sandwich!" Tanya laughed as she was digging through the couch. Shannon being the biggest girl as far as weight went in the house, no one would ever know it by how much these two skinny girls ate.
