"I am the time keeper of eternal life." he explains. "I protect the timegate and the time key. Every so often I pick a child to place my gift on so he can defend earth realm against the time eaters - they are evil warriors who seek to destroy time, which will cause a chain reaction making all time come into one time... eventually destroying the earth."
You stare at him, mouth hanging open. He continues.
"I am about to give you the time key to look after until you have to pass it onto the next warrior to protect time. They will come for you and you must defend yourself and the key. You must never let them get the key! Get on with your life for now and don't tell anyone about your gift...."
There is a blinding flash of light. You back away and hold your hand up to shield your eyes. When you recover, the man is gone.
"Wait a minute! I thought you were going to give me some sort of key!" you call out. No response comes.
"Well, that's just great!" you mutter as you shove your hands in your pockets. "I'm supposed to protect some stupid key and I don't even have-" you stop midsentence as you feel a metal object in your left pocket. Pulling it out, you see that it is a golden key with a bright blue stone embedded in the end of it. It has the word "TIME" engraved on both sides of it.
