"So, how soon can I apply?" you ask eagerly and hopeful.
"Come with me when I go to work tomorrow!" replies James. "In the meantime, let's grab something to eat."
"Sounds good."
You and James meet up at MacDonalds since it's cheap and you don't have a job and James starts tomorrow. You order a regular sized cheeseburger, fries and drink. James orders a big Mac, fries and a drink and you share a table and chat about upcoming summer blockbusters, video games and what kind of games James will be testing. You make plans to walk with him to work tomorrow at Digidesign Core Limited and hopes of getting a job testing and playing video games. James explains that it's probably not as easy as it sounds, testing the games means vigorously play testing looking for bugs and having to write down every little glitch from sound cutting out to physic issues and crashes.
You finish your meal and go home with a smile on your face and hope for tomorrow.
The Next Day
The next morning you wake up early and have a shower and get dressed into a polo shirt and some decent pants. You ready your resume and cover letter and slip it into a clipboard and head downstairs to join your folks for breakfast while your brother is snoring away upstairs.
"You seem pretty chipper today Scout," your Dad muses playfully.
"You bet, hopefully I'll be able to get a job play testing video games with James," you answer and take a bite of your Super Sugar Flakes.
"Sounds like a fun job," your Mom agrees," I just hope you don't spend all day sitting on your butt eating junk food and play video games."
"I'm sure they'll have more things to do then that," your Dad says with a chuckle.
You finish off your cereal and soon James comes knocking on your door and you both head out while your folks head off to work.
"So are you ready?" you ask James.
"Oh yeah," he replies," I'm sure it's going to be fun. I hope you get in as well."
"Same," you agree and you both walk down the street towards Digidesign Core Limited's headquarters.
You arrive at a 4 story building near the downtown area, it's hidden a bit off the main roads and has a high fence around it and it's well kept grassy field. The building is white with dark glass and you can't see anything inside the building except the front door. You and James march into the building and you can see multiple security cameras watching you.
You walk up to the front desk and hear your footsteps echo off the minimalist designed room.
"Good morning James," greets the secretary who wears her hair up in a bun and has glasses on, she hands James a security card," Here's your card. You're expected in room 1-15."
"Thanks," James says taking his security pass," This is my friend (insert your name here), he's wondering if he could apply here as well."
You smile and hold your clipboard with anticipation.
"I'm sorry, we're currently not accepting resumes at this time," says the secretary," I'm afraid James took the last spot."
"Ohh," both you and James sigh.
"If something opens up I'll be sure to tell James about it," she says with a smile.
"Thank you," You say with a smile and bit of hope restored.
"I guess I gotta get inside," James says," See you later (insert your name here)."
"Have fun," you wish and James gives you a wave and walks up to a thick door and swipes his card into a slot and it opens with a buzz.
"Have a good day," says the receptionist and you walk outside feeling a little blue.
