"WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!" comes the shout of your Mom looking at your arm.
"I was the assistant coach," you answer calmly remembering what happened to you earlier that afternoon.
"This will not do!" your Mom says and gets up and grabs the antibacterial cream and starts smothering your arm with it. "You're going to quit that job and find a new one. Wait, change that. I'll find you a job."
"Peggy," says your Dad and is about to continue, but your Mom cuts in.
"No Rob," your Mom snaps giving him the 'Mom Eye' ," he's not going back there to get the stuffing beat out of him. I'll find him a better job."
"Mama's boy," Mike whispers to you. Your Mom slaps him on the back of his head.
A few hours after dinner your Mom comes up to your room to check on your bruises and cuts and says," Well, I found a new job for you. You're going to come help me, just like you did when you were 8."
"Oh," you answer remembering how bored you were that summer and how you and Mike had to stay hours at a time at your Mom's office.
"So be ready for work tomorrow at 9 am sharp," your Mom smiles and gives you a pat on your back causing a shot of pain on a bruise.
Your Mom quickly apologizes for the hit and leaves your room. You sit back in your computer chair and wonder about your new job. Of course it'll be boring working for your insurance broker Mom, but your Dad and his work buddies will be around, so you'll have plenty of inspiration. Not to mention food, your Dad often talks about the great doughnuts someone picked up from the Main Street Bakery. And you'll also be making some cash and getting work experience. And it sure beats flipping burgers.
