Sticky Situation

Sam's sneaker came down on Eric. The deep treads provided enough room so that Eric was not crushed beneath the sole. It was a tight fit though, and Eric became wedged in the treads.
Eric became worried he might fall out and really get squashed if he wasnt careful. There was some movement from above and Eric watched as the darkness he was in, changed to light. Sam was walking out of the room with his brother. It became a fearful ride for Eric as each time Sam took a step, he came crashing down into darkness coming mere inches from the ground where Sams foot fell.
The movements became too much afer awhile, and were making Eric dizzy. He didnt know how much more of it he could take.
Eric watched the surroundings each time Sam brought his shoe up as he walked. They were only a blur as it seemed Sam was walking extremely fast. Eric also noticed that the gournd beneath him turned from tile floor, to pavement and cement. Tom and Sam must have walked out of the building and were now outside.
Eric was hoping that Sam would stop soon, so he could try and attempt get himself out from under the sneaker sole. The smell of rubber was all around him, and he hoped his temporary prison would keep him safe for a little while longer at least.
Eric got into the rythym of each footstep, and became transfixed on the upcoming pavement going beneath him and the sneaker. Up ahead a few foot steps, he noticed something green on the sidewalk. He couldnt make it out. Two more steps and he was close enough to realize it was a piece of gum spit out on the sidewalk. At this rate, Sam was headed right toward it.
Eric watched the next step, and then the next step and he figured it was too late. Sam took another step, bringing his sole down on the piece of gum. Unfortunately for Eric, it was good aim. As the sole came down squashing the gum, it was right beneath him. He felt himself covered in the sticky gum as it oozed around him and into the treads. Sam brought his foot up, and some of the gum became stringy sticking to the sole and still to the sidewalk. It quickly let loose and Sam continued his step, bringing his foot up and then down again.
Eric was really stuck now into the treads covered completely in the gum. He couldnt believe this was happening. Sam came to a stop, and Eric felt himself quickly thrust into the air. Sam brought his foot up and looked under at his sneaker sole.
"Oh gross man," Sam said in disgust to his brother. "I stepped in somebody's gum, and its all over my sole."
Eric thought he saw Sam looking at him, but realized he was probably just concerned about the gum on his shoe, not even noticing Eric trapped underneath. Eric tried to make some movement and get Sam's attention, but the gum around him prevented him from doing anything. Sam let go of his foot and his sneaker came crashing back down onto the sidewalk again.
