"Wait a minute. What just happened?" I look around myself and shake my head to get that light out of my eyes. Everything's blurry. "My body!" I slap my hands in several places to see if I'm still alive - yes, but that strange whizzing sensation that just went through me…God, I rub my eyes. Things are becoming clearer. What happened, where am I. OK, I'm at work, tool bag on; vision keeps blurring, gotta look closely - don't recognise anything. I bend over and touch the ground - what the hell are these, flowers? The long thin shafts come up halfway to my knees. I stumble around trying to get out of the flower bed, but it doesn't seem to end. I reach my hand out to the wall - cement - where's the house - cement up, cement down. What is this? My vision is slowly becoming clearer - I look up to the roof, but what's that above it? It…what is this, a skyscraper? Where am I - we're not building a skyscraper. "Tom!" I yell out for one of my co-workers, "Frank!" No answer; lota hammering going on. I yell louder. My vision is… what the fuck!! I look around again, down at the grass, up at the plywood shell, over at the 2x4 scraps piled in a mountain, down at my body. "I'm only six inches tall!!!"
Suddenly I hear voices and run for cover behind the long 2x6's propped against the wall. I look out cautiously to see Frank and Tom walk by.
"Where is he?"
"I don't know - I could've sworn I heard his call, but it sounded far away over in that direction."
"I don't see him. I told him to nail up the rest of this plywood over here. We've gotta get this done today. I've got a huge, tight schedule, and I don't have time to go looking after the labourers!"
"I could've sworn I heard him call from over here," said Frank.
