Delpheus watched his sister. She was a fine warrior, no one could deny that. But whereas she had the charisma, the power to lead and the strength he had other skills. Unlike her he could feel much more intensively, and the death of each person was like a personal blow to him. Whilst Dauphin craved vengeance, Delpheus craved peace.
"Let us turn back now. They will have learnt their lesson," he pleaded.
"Not before we reach the heart of the city and capture their King," Dauphin replied.
Delpheus looked at her back, so strong and proud on Vrexx. Dauphin was his sister and he adored her, but the killing had to stop.
"Forgive me," he said as he brought the full extent of his mental powers on Dauphin's mind to will her into unconciousness. He could do no more to harm his sister than that.
He could tell that the men were looking at them.
"Dauphin is injured. I am in charge for now. And I say we turn back - they will have learnt their lesson," he shouted, hoping the men would obey. And much to his relief they did.
