You took a deep breath to steady yourself as you checked yourself over in the mirror. Your palms were sweaty and your throat was dry.
You felt nervous. You really couldn't help it either. Even the most mundane events in your life had a habit of going disastrously wrong, so when something big came up it was only natural for you to feel afraid of what might happen. If it wasn't Jenna's calculated cruelty, Mari's forgetfulness, your mother's carelessness, or Ashley's ditziness, it was just the cruel and arbitrary whims of fate that ensured you suffered.
Hell, you'd spent weeks nervous about finally starting college, going out of your way to avoid every kind of pratfall and mistake that would result in you falling into your sister's clutches or crushed by your clueless mother, all so you could start college off on the right foot. You'd let out a sigh of relief when you took you first step onto Weston campus, uninjured...
Only to immediately up squashed under your hefty dean's heel in her haste to make it to orientation on time. You'd spent a week ingrained into her shoe, missing classes, before she eventually found you. Even then you'd been mistaken for gum at first and nearly thrown out until she noticed the "gum" had an eye blinking at her in desperation.
So yeah, you and special occasions? Perfectly understandable for you to be nervous about them.
Which is why you couldn't help but flinch on hearing a knock on the front door.
Who's at the door and what's the occasion?
1) Mari's at the door and is all dressed up for your Valentine's Day date! But not just any Valentine's Day, this is the Valentine's Day where you plan on proposing to her! Unfortunately, just as Mari and you are about to head out the door on the most romantic date of your life, Jenna and Piper convince Mari to attend a Valentine's Day Party they're throwing instead. In mere moments your meticulously laid plans leading up to the perfect proposal are ruined, as instead of an intimate night alone with Mari, the two of you are surrounded by your chaotic friends, family and acquaintances.
2) Rio Fuertes, Bea Parker and Cynthia Morrow are at the door for a Mother's Day trip! You, Mari and Jenna decided to pool your money to give your moms a special retreat this holiday. However, things quickly ballooned out of proportion as Jenna told Ashley about your plans, and Mari told Selena, resulting in them piggybacking on your plans by adding their funds and involving their own moms. Then to top things off, you told your Aunt Cass about your plans while on the phone and, realizing she may feel left out, invited her to join in on the festivities as well. As you and Jenna watch your mom and aunt depart for their big day out, Jenna just can't resist her pranking instincts, and flicks you onto your mom's car seat just as she's about to sit down, ensuring that you're going along with this assortment of dangerous mothers (and aunt) on their Mother's Day retreat.
3) Mari and Ashley are at the door to accompany you to the Small Wonders Tech Expo held on Weston University campus! Small Wonders has been a constant innovator in breakthrough technology to help affected live safer, more convenient, and more fulfilling lives. You've been dying for an opportunity to introduce your friends and family to more affected safe technology and ways of thinking and you hope the Small Wonders Tech Expo will be the best way to do that. Mari, Lauren and Ashley have all agreed to go but naturally things aren't set to go that smoothly. Jenna and Piper are going and they seem like they have something planned to mess with you; your romantic rival, Selena Morrow, is at the event, helping her mother Cynthia with some of the catering; and your old bully, Penelope Graham, is trying to engineer a debate about "unsafe tiny technologies" to promote CTC propaganda. This experience may not be as eye-opening for your friends and family as you hope.
4) Mari's at the door for a chill date... or at least, that's what was supposed to happen. Since you haven't gotten time to see each other in so long, due to Jenna and Piper's pranks and Mari's increased workload at the Oasis, this is your first chance at a date in months! Unfortunately, your private time together in your bedroom is short-lived as Selena sends out a text reminding the Oasis Crew that tonight is Jessie Malachi's all-night birthday rager at a club called Dance to Scale. Mari tells you that she'll need to raincheck your date, but as she's getting ready for her friend's party, she accidentally ends up squishing you, ensuring that you're dragged along. It's only when Mari arrives at Dance to Scale that Viola points you out, and with no other option for a ride home, you're forced to remain at the party until Mari can take you home. But your night out may not be as safe as you hope with a drunk and forgetful Mari, a drunk and angry Selena, a drunk and flirtatious Jessie, a buzzed but naive Cherry, a sober but critical Viola, and buzzed but lucidly sadistic Hanna and Nina.
5) Mari's at the door with luggage for your family's trip to the International Anime Expo in Japan! Recently your Aunt Cass began working with a group known as Vivid Videos who wanted your aunt to branch out from modeling to acting. The result was your aunt being cast in a Supreme Super Size Sisters movie. Since she needs to go to the International Anime Expo to promote the movie, she managed to get her studio to fly out you, Mari, Jenna, Piper and Lauren to all join her in Tokyo.
