A flash out of the corner of my eye caught my attention, as Dad stopped us just before I walked out the door. "One last thing, young lady."
I turned to Dad, curious. "What do you have for me?"
Dad walked over to a small device on the table before fiddling with his iPhone for a moment; then handed me a card, which I quickly realized was a fake ID. "It is illegal to make your own IDs; but you need something to verify who you are when asked. We will get you a real one, if you decide to stay this way."
I smiled at that. "Thanks, Dad."
Dad nodded, then pushed me and Kathy out of the house. "Now get going, girls; your mother and I deserve a little alone time."
Kathy giggled. "Don't get too frisky, you two."
We all shared a laugh at that, then got into the van. It looked like something a handyman or construction worker would use to haul tools and supplies on the outside. Inside was all the comforts of home, including a shower, sink, microwave, and four small fold-out beds for us to nap on long trips. This was the first time I was seeing it, as all of the road trips were 'girls only'.
Kathy grinned at my reaction. "Wait until you see what Dad uses for his male bonding trips with his work buddies. You know he loves to modify everything; it's his thing. We will be using this to get changed for the beach, and to save on hotel costs if we have to stop somewhere for the night."
With that, we were off to pick up the other girls for our trip. Along the way, Kathy put on some music to better get me into the spirit. The first song was "You Need An Angel, Not My Love", by Lone Heroine:

We then picked up Michelle and Barbara, who were both shocked and bemused upon setting eyes on me. They both looked me up and down before pulling me into a quick hug. I tried not to blush, but failed miserably, making the others laugh.
Barbra was the first to speak as we took our seats. "Not bad for being born a boy. You came out looking real hot."
Michelle was still giggling. "We are going to have a time keeping the wolves at bay with you tagging along." She teased. "Don't worry, we'll watch your back."
Kathy gave a short laugh as she drove. "Her name is Linda. Dad got her a new ID this morning for the vacation."
With that, she put on the next song, as our road trip began.
