"You're right on time."

“You're right on time. For once. Now take your seat, class is starting,” Pr. Luminata said.

“Y-yes ma’am,” Melona said. She quickly got up and sped to her seat at the back of the class, trying and failing to ignore all the other students’ giggles over her clumsiness. Once seated, she pulled out her notebook and prepared for today’s lecture.

“As I said last time, we'll finish off the last Lich War today before moving onto the Era of Peace. But before we do, you should know that your papers are due today.”

Wait, paper? What paper? Melona thought.

“You’ve had two weeks to complete it, which should’ve been enough for anyone.”

Two weeks ago? That was… the day she stayed in because some prank turned her skin pink and pitched her voice up. It took all day for it to wear off. She figured missing one class wouldn’t hurt but apparently… Well, Magic History was the only class she was doing well in. So maybe missing one project wouldn’t-

“And as a reminder, missing a single project in my class will automatically fail you.”

What?! Melona yelled internally. Oh, right. Melona remembered the first day of class and hearing the professor’s harsh rules imposed upon her and the rest of class. “If you actually care about my class, then attending every session and completing every project on time shouldn’t be an issue,” Melona remembered Pr. Luminata saying that day.

Right. It was one of those classes that didn’t record attendance, but missing a day could cost dearly, such as right now. And either she didn’t give her class any reminders after that day or Melona missed them from being late. Of course the one class she was doing well in had to have the most unreasonable teacher, Melona thought. And now she might fail because of it.

But fortunately, a potential solution would reveal itself in the form of…
