Chapter #6

Ronnie Anne swatted the fly away.

As Ronnie Anne sat on the couch waiting for Lincoln to appear, she was completely unaware that her best friend was currently half an inch tall and riding a housefly. She just sat in front of the TV with a bored expression on her face thinking that Lincoln stood her up. Luckily for her, that wasn't the case as Lincoln tried to steer the fly towards her. Lincoln looked at Ronnie Anne from above trying to think of a way to get her attention.

The first thing he could think of was getting closer to her ear so that she could hear him. So, that's what he did. Lincoln then rode the fly closer to Ronnie Anne's left ear and tried to make his move once he hovered close enough to it. "Hey, Ronnie Anne! I'm over here! It's me, Lincoln!" He cried. But Ronnie Anne didn't seem to respond to his pleas for help.

"It's no good. She still can't hear me." Lincoln said in distress. "I've got to find another way. Come on!" With the ear plan out the door, Lincoln went with his backup plan and steered the fly in front of Ronnie Anne's face. He was at a safe-enough distance from her and thought it worked the moment he saw Ronnie Anne's eyes widen in front of him. He thought he had her attention now and attempted to call to her again. But before he could get a word in, the fly immediately panicked, much to Lincoln's surprise as it flew away from her.

It was then that Lincoln realized what startled the fly. He saw Ronnie Anne's hand coming for it to swat it away. "Ugh, go away bug!" Ronnie Anne said in irritation. She waved her hand around to swat the fly away, unaware that Lincoln was riding it. The fly started buzzing around in an irregular pattern to avoid the giant hand.

Lincoln, however, had a hard time keeping his grip on it. "No, Ronnie Anne, it's me! It's Lincoln!" He shouted to her, but it was no use. "DON'T SWAT ME!!!" Lincoln saw her hands coming to hit him left and right and held onto the bug as much as he could, but with how fast Ronnie Anne's hands were moving, it wasn't easy to hold on.

The fly kept dodging anyway it could and Lincoln could barely hang onto it as the wind made by the waving hands blew right past him. Lincoln wasn't sure how much longer he could keep it up without feeling dizzy. There were a few close calls, but soon enough, his luck ran out. It was at that point that Lincoln saw her hand coming right in front of him and there was no way his insect steed could move out of the way in time, so, he was left with one option.

Before Ronnie Anne's massive hand could swat the fly away, Lincoln jumped off of it just in the nick of time. "Ugh, finally." Ronnie Anne said with satisfaction. She succeeded in swatting the fly away, but Lincoln wasn't any safer. He began falling down from the fly with Ronnie Anne right below him and he was worried about where he was going to land. He just hoped that it would be a soft landing somewhere where Ronnie Anne would notice him.
