As Max is letting Rhea diaper him, his eyes wander, not really focused on watching himself get diapered. As he did, he saw a bottle and a pacifier nearby. They were about the size to fit in his mouth, which made sense, since he was about as big as Cassie's baby siblings.
He didn't exactly have memories of being treated like babies are, but he saw how Cassie and her mom Rhea had treated the baby dragons in their family. He started to wonder what perks might come from being treated like a baby. But he also wondered if Rhea would be up for it. She had gone as far as bottle feeding him that one time he slept over, so, it wasn't out of the realm of possibility. So, finally gathering his courage, he asked "Um, Mommy, I know this may sound, um, odd, but, um......... do you think I could be treated like a baby today?"
Rhea was a little surprised by this request. But she didn't feel disgusted. In fact, she kind of had been wanting to, but didn't want to force Max into such a scenario without his own consent to do so. She may have been a protective and assertive mother, but never would she force her little ones into a situation they were not comfortable with. This include Max and Emmy when they visited. Cassie also knew her mom had an urge to be more motherly to Max, as if he were baby, and understood, with how fragile they saw Max to themselves. She herself was surprised, but she wasn't against it either. In fact, she and her mother had set up what they would have planned for the day, if Max ever requested to be treated like a baby. Now it seemed they could go ahead with their setup, with Max requesting it.
Rhea finally responded, "Well, I can dear, if you really want, but are you sure. Cause if we do, I will be setting some rules for you. Do you understand dear?"
Max nodded, "Uh huh, and I do want to today, but, can we just keep it between us here at the cave, and not to let everyone in Dragon Land know?"
Rhea smiled, "Of course dear, I have no need to head out of the cave today, so don't worry about being seen treated like a baby sweetheart. And even if we did, the other Dragons would only find it adorable. We very understanding here in Dragon Land dear. We don't have the same thought process as many humans in your world honey."
Max sighed, as that information made him feel better. "Thanks Mommy," Max said as he hugged her snout.
Rhea smiled, then gave him some quick belly blasts to make him laugh. After that she stated, "Now, since I'm gonna be treating you like a baby today Max, there's gonna be some rules you'll have to follow. Are you ready to hear them?"
Max nodded in agreement. "Alright, well, first rule, you have to call me Mama for the time I treat you like a baby. No calling me Mommy or Rhea. Second Rule, you let me hand feed you food, even the cake we are making. Now don't worry, I won't give you icky baby food. I know your stomach wouldn't handle it very well. Third rule, no telling me you need a diaper change. If you have to go, then go, but I will check it, to decide when you need a change. Fourth Rule, if I say you need a nap, there will be no complaining dear. Rule five, where ever I put gates beyond this nursery, means you can't toddle or crawl there. I will carry you to that area. Rule Six, if I decide to put you in my pouch, I don't want to hear you complaining. Rule seven, if I decide to feed you a bottle, or breastfeed you, your will have to drink it dear, Rule Eight, if at any time, you want to stop being treated like a baby, just simply say "Big Boy Now", and I will stop dear."
(Yes, breastfeeding will be able to happen in this setup. I know they didn't have breasts in the actual series, but please, let us be a little creative here.)
Max felt the rule she set were fair, so he replied, "Otay Mama."
Rhea smiled, and picked him up off the changing table, carrying him out of the nursery and to the kitchen with Cassie following them, making funny faces at Max, acting like he was her baby brother now.
