"We need to get you into some protection dear. I understand you may not be staying here long, but, we can never be too careful sweety," Rhea said.
"Fine with me, Mommy," Max teased.
Rhea and Cassie giggled. It had been a slip up during one of Max's visits, where he had accidentally called Rhea mommy, but Rhea did not lecture Max to not call her mommy, in fact, she encouraged him to call her Mommy, and Cassie was fine with it too, as were her siblings. To them Max was an honorary member to their family. Sure Ord and Max were best friends, but it was during one of Max's visits when Ord was away, that Max found to have a more family like relationship with Cassie and her family. So, in a sense, Rhea was Max's dragon mom, whenever he visited Dragon Land. Even Quetzal, their teacher, had explained that there are the mothers you are born to, and there are also the mothers you find that care about you just as much. It had been more to explain how orphaned Dragons can find new mommies that love and care about them, just as much as their original mothers would have, maybe even more in some cases, but Quetzal also explained that mothers sometimes form mother communities, known as a kresh, like Lionesses in Max's human realm. So, in some cases, dragon younglings can have more than one mom (And in some rarer cases, more than one dad) to care for them. For Max, Rhea was his mother away from the human realm, and Cassie and her siblings were his dragon siblings. So Max calling Rhea mommy was not shunned, but smiled upon, even from dragons outside of Cassie's family, like Ord's family.
Soon, Rhea picked up Max, and took him to the nursery. While Cassie's younger siblings played in the Nursery, Rhea laid Max on the changing table. Max did not put up a struggle, at least not out of uncomfortableness time. This had become routine since the first time Max spent the night at Cassie's place. If he decided to put up a struggle, it was out of playfulness, which Rhea would play along with. As Rhea started to get him fitted into a diaper.............
