How could this happen? You knew that going to war with the mindset of not losing was stupid, but this was something you didn't expect. With the lost of the second Death Star and the Emperor, the Empire was put on the back foot. After the battle, the Empire was losing control of planets one by one. Some still stayed loyal, refusing to give way to the New Republic as they remembered how inefficient the old one was.
Which means the Empire had a fighting chance to turn it back around. Which is something you want to take part in, but you can't as you were assign to this dusty, back water planet, where nothing happens where you're posted at. Apparently it was a top secret site. No one, not even other troopers were allowed there unless specifically ordered to. Which is why they gave you special equipment to handle anyone who isn't allowed here. Still, you wish something would happen to break the silince and boredom.
Well, you had gotten your wish as the alarm started to blare. You were almost happy about that as you started to look for the intruder.
When you had a corner to turn, you brace against it as you could hear footsteps coming this way. You step out with your gun drawn expecting soldiers or hired mercenaries, but what you saw made you shock as you saw who it was. Someone you never thought you'd see again.
"A-Ahsoka?" You said stunned.
"How do you know me?" She said, still holding up her saber.
"Remember the volunteer corps of Republic army? We had run ins with you a few times on scouting missions and some fire fights." You said.
"(Your name)?" She said, remembering.
"Yes. That's me." You said as she deactivates her saber. "What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same. I never thought you'd join the Empire." She said.
"It was a hard choice. They had to give me and a few others psyche evaluations to see if we could still serve. I mentioned you a few times." You said.
"I know the feeling. When I left the Jedi Order, I was lost for a while." She said.
"I wasn't as much lost as I was confused. You seem to find your way back to the Jedi." You said.
"I'm not a Jedi." She quickly corrected.
"Really? Then....why are you here? There's nothing of value in this place." You said.
"I'm looking for information. I was hoping to not use my lightsabers on anyone, but that fell apart quickly." She said.
"They were just doing what they were ordered to do. Like everyone here. ....I know who you're looking for. That baby. You and everyone else on this rock wants him." You said.
"You know where he is? If you do know, please tell me so no more lives have to be lost here. You look like an officer now, so you must know." She said.
You sigh heavily.
"I'm sorry, Ahsoka. But I can't. You are an intruder. And as much as it's nice to see you again and help you, I have to act accordingly." You said, raising your blaster up.
"(Your name). Don't do this. I don't want to hurt you." She said, drawing her saber.
"Sorry Ahsoka, but some of us still have something to believe in and fight for." You said, firing your blaster.
She easily deflects the shots back at you, making you duck them as you fire off more only for them to be deflected away. You readjust your aim for her leg, but she moves quickly to the side and slashes upward, slicing your blaster in half.
What neither of you counted on what it exploding right afterwards. If it was a regular blaster, then it would have been fine, but these new experimental ones were using volatile energy cells that explode if misfired or tampered.
The explosion was small, but powerful enough to throw both of against the wall.
"Ow...." Ahsoka said, rubbing the back of her head.
"(Your name)" She calls out as she looks around. She looks downward and her eyes go wide at what she sees.
She saw you, but you were only a few inches tall. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Even after grabbing you and holding you in her hand, she still couldn't believe what she was seeing.
She couldn't stand there gawking forever as more troopers would be on the way. So she'd have to cut her mission short and leave.
