Matt wasn't prepared to be asked to decide, but only hesitated a moment before requesting a booth, so that he and Emily could get to know each other somewhere private. It was only a moment before the pair had been led to a spacious booth that was easily the size of Matt's house. Emily gently scooped Matt up with a clawed hand, her grip much lighter now than the first time she had held him.
As Emily lifted Matt up to the edge of the table, Matt was relieved to see that the restaurant had accounted for the difference in size between creatures such as Emily and himself. There was a human-sized walkway affixed to the side of the table leading to a comfortable-looking seating area that dipped down below the tables edge.
While Matt walked along the walkway, Emily climbed into the large seat on the other side. She rested most of her body sideways aling the padded seat, allowing her tail to hang over the edge and curl on the floor. The low light of the restaurant booth caused Emily's scales to take on a golden glint as she made herself comfortable. She fixed Matt with another smile when he sat down as well.
The two made small talk as a griffon waiter, smaller than Emily but still massive by human standards provided them with menus and drinks. Matt talked about his job and desire for something new, while Emily described a fascination with humans, but the trouble she'd had meeting them. Matt still found the dragoness overwhelming, with breathtaking beauty and a terrifying sense of power; but she spoke with a casualness and confidence that made him trust her easily.
Before they knew it, the waiter was back and asking if they were ready to order.
