A bright light shined onto Rouge. Rouge regained consciousness. She found herself disoriented and restrained. She also noticed she was upside down.
“Where am I?” She thought.
She scanned her environment. It looked to be a laboratory. The lab appeared mostly cold and grey. She spotted some fancy looking equipment. She was unfamiliar with the technology, but she wasn’t sticking around to find out. She examined her shackles. She tried to break loose but didn’t have the coordination to; being upside down and unconscious has hindered her. While griping internally, she noticed a familiar symbol. Then everything came back to her.
Then a lab door opened. A familiar portly, mustache sporting scientist walked through.
“Ah, you’re awake.” Eggman said. “Can I get my guest anything? Maybe something to drink?”
“Dr. Eggman. Tell me why I’m restrained like this or I’ll kick that rodent off your upper lip.” Rouge demanded.
“I nominated you to be the lab rat for my latest invention. It can alter the mind of any living creature, removing and adding anything I want. Not only will I be able to obtain G.U.N.’s secrets, I’ll have my own loyal mole too.” Eggman said.
“You are a disgusting, inhumane, slimeball.” Rouge shouted angrily. “You’ll never break…” A strange gas passed by Rouge, causing her to lose consciousness.
“I like you better when you’re out cold.” Eggman said.
Eggman attached his equipment to Rouge’s head. He activated the device to peer into her mind. Once inside, Eggman began syphoning away her thoughts and memories. Her mind being wiped to be reprogram later. All was going smoothly, until the good doctor’s work betrayed himself. The machine overloaded, sparks fluttering everywhere and gears coming loose. Suddenly, the machine breaks down. Eggman shouted in anger and threw a fit. Most of Rouge’s mind drained and stored on to Eggman’s mainframe. But with the device broken, he can’t initiate phase two with Rouge. Cutting his losses, he ordered his Badnicks to dump her body off somewhere in the nearby woods.
Rouge awoke a few hours later. She eyed her current environment aimlessly. Then, Rouge cried. She wailed as a distressed infant would. The machine had left her with the mental state of an 18-month-old. Her cries echoed through the woods. But, luckily, a passing explorer heard. They followed the wails to Rouge’s location. She was lucky to be found by…
