Tails was casually minding his own buisness as he was walking through the forest on the way to his lab carrying a bag on his shoulder full of mechanical parts that he was hoping to begin constructing with. As he continued walking, though, he began to hear a wailing-like sound in the distance, initially confusing the young kitsune before he then decided to go and explore the noise.
Eventually the kitsune was able to get to the source of the wailing, finding that it was coming from a bat, but not just any bat, it was Rouge, the jewel thief who was a good friend of Tails despite the age gap. She was currently sitting down, not seeming to want to get up as tears continually fell down her face.
Tails, a little bit confused at the scene itself hesitantly walked over to Rouge, hoping to find out what the issue was. “Rouge?” Tails began to say, “Is everything alright? Why are you crying?”
