This choice: Claire goes up to the tea room and waits for her shift to begin. • Go Back...Chapter #4Claire goes up to the tea room and waits for he... by: Saracen1187 Still chagrined at the event just witnessed, and still feeling a little guilty about crushing the old man's glasses, Claire made her way up to the tea room and pushed the door open, walking inside. There were five of her co-workers in there, and more would undoubtedly be arriving shortly, since the shift started in 15 minutes.
"Hey you." Ellie smiled at Claire when she saw her. Ellie was as friendly as Claire was, and was the fourth newest employee after Daniel, Claire and David.
"Hi Ellie." Claire managed a warm smile, trying to forget what had happened outside as she took a seat next to her friend. Claire then took a look around at who else was in the room. Mona was sat nearest her and Ellie, but she was reading a Kindle like she often did before work. Kiran was sat just two places from Mona, eating a bag of doritos and sending a text on her iphone which was laid on the table in front of her. And across by the window, Aaron and Josh were stood chatting about something that Claire couldn't make out. But given the interests of the guys she worked with, it was probably something boring to her.
After a moment's silence, Claire started talking to Ellie, explaining what had happened outside with the old man who had vanished into thin air. "That's weird, are you... are you sure you didn't imagine it?" Ellie asked, slipping her tongue in her cheek as she prepared to take a drink from her Diet Pepsi.
"No I didn't imagine it." Claire stated, feeling slightly insulted. But then she frowned, and her nose twitched. "At least I don't think I did. I definitely stepped on his glasses, and he was definitely angry. And Elizabeth remembered seeing him as well, when he was complaining about the service downstairs." She said.
"Well, if he's gone, it's over." Ellie smiled. "Just forget it happened."
"I guess..." Claire sighed, still not sure what had happened outside. But she couldn't help but have a sense of foreboding as she sat back and looked across at Aaron and Josh for a moment.
