Claire continued to feel uneasy as she watched more of her co-workers trickle in to the tea room to have something to drink, or in some cases to eat their breakfast before work started. Such was the case with David, another of the newest employees. He only worked part time as he was studying at the local college, so he wasn't always in the store. She had taken a shine to him, though, as he was a rather friendly guy. She watched as he walked in and pulled out a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich he had picked up on the way to work and began quickly chowing down with the hope of finishing before the shift started.
Claire then cast her gaze back to the door, spotting Rebekah, Laura, and Charlotte walking in, chatting together. Claire had quickly learned that those three girls had been working at Wilko for a long while and had attended school together, and as such they were good friends. Claire got along rather well with Rebekah and Laura, but as for Charlotte ... well, she could be rather rude at times. Claire hated to admit it, but she had grown rather used to that fact already.
The three girls soon joined Ellie and Claire in conversation, but Claire was too distracted to pay attention. That feeling of unease was still gnawing at her.
