This choice: Chie takes Yu back to her home. • Go Back... (Final boss spoilers)
Yu was pinned tightly against the chest of his comparatively massive girlfriend. All he could see was the green fabric of her jacket and all he could hear was her heartbeat- which was unnaturally fast. Clearly, Chie was conflicted, perhaps even frightened, about what she'd just done to him.
Maybe this meant he could talk her into growing him back.
That prospect seemed less likely as Yu felt a familiar jolt as the atmosphere around him changed. Apparently, Chie had left the TV World, presumably back to her living room. Naturally, Yu was still shrunk.
Chie slowly relaxed her grip, bringing Yu away from her body so he could look up at her.
"We're home, Yu..." she said quietly, smiling down on him with an expression of pure love.
Yu sighed. He'd have to break this to Chie gently.
"Chie, you know this isn't a long term plan, right?" Yu asked. "You'll have to grow me back eventually."
Chie shook her head.
"It's like I said back when we started dating," she said, blushing. "I want to protect you."
"You can do that while I'm normal sized," Yu countered. Chie shook her head again.
"This is what my power's for," Chie insisted. "Protecting everyone I care about. And when I got that new one, well... it just clicked."
There were a lot of unanswered questions in Yu's mind about how and when Chie got her size changing powers and the implications therein. Not wanting to think about that in the wake of having just defeated Izanami, Yu decided to change tactics.
"You do realize that I'm going to come back someday, right? It's not like I'm leaving Inaba forever."
"A year's a long time, Yu," Chie said sadly. "And even after that, you'd go to college. There's so much the world has to offer that I can't, and maybe you would come back, but..."
She brought Yu up to her face and gently kissed him, her lips engulfing his whole face. Fortunately for both the moment and Yu's constitution, she hadn't been chewing Meat Gum recently.
"I can't imagine life without you anymore," Chie said. "I want to keep you here with me."
"What about our friends?" Yu asked. "How do you think they're going to react when they find out about this?"
Chie smiled...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
