You knew that you could summon dad in an emergency with a special bracelet he had given you before leaving for Cauldron Academy. It had a sensor which you only had to press with your thumb to send a signal that you needed him. If it were ever ripped off, it would send a signal to both him and your mother that you were in danger. You pressed the sensor and dad appeared in front of you with a concerned look on his face. He was tall and muscular with short black hair and reddish eyes which often gave you the creeps. "My search for your brother has, thus far, been unsuccessful." Stress in his voice, he said. "All of the tracking devices I have given him do not seem to be functioning and he is not answering his cellphone."
"There is a spot he may have gone but I can't go there alone." Wincing, you said. "Mom doesn't like him going there."
"Name the location." Serious, dad said.
"The junkyard just outside of town." Frowning, you replied. "He often goes there to work out when he needs to clear his head."
"That is a dead zone." Frowning, dad said. "Cellphones and tracking devices do not work there. Joe is foolish to go there because of that very reason; he cannot call for help if he falls into trouble or danger."
"I'm going with you." Serious, you said. "He's my brother."
"There is no time to argue over the issue, Gina." Darkly, dad said. "Come if you wish but do not leave my side for any reason. The junkyard is a playground for young collectives."
You gulped at that. Young collectives or groups of teenage mad scientists could bring anyone trouble; especially if they were feeling mischievous. You nodded and dad raised a hand held device before pressing a single button. In a flash you were both in the middle of the junkyard where you found Joe...
