You froze, fearful for your brother as you saw him running from a group of five boys. All of them were wearing school uniforms you did not recognize and were shouting threatening phrases such as "Get him!" and "Don't let him get away!"
You turned to dad, hoping he would jump in but found that he was not making a move though there was a look of disapproval on his face. Joe eventually spotted you with dad and sprinted in your direction with the boys in pursuit. Dad allowed Joe to run passed before pulling you behind him.
"I shall deal with this, young lady." Darkly, he said. "See to it that Joe is unharmed."
You nodded then hurried over to Joe who seemed to have been catching his second wind. "I was working out when five girls came running after me, asking for my help." Irritated, he said. "Then these five lunatics arrived and tried to drag me into a van!" He shivered off a certain chill. "The two groups then got into a fight using things that I had only seen in an Anime. I was trying to get away from both of them when you showed up with dad."
"Are you hurt?" Wincing, you asked.
Joe shook his head. "Just mad and confused, that's all." Huffing, he replied. "Do you have any idea what's going on?"
"That's enough, gentlemen." Gravely, dad commanded. "Explain yourselves."
The five boys froze in their tracks, their faces ghostly pale upon seeing dad standing before them with his hands firmly onto his hips. You had never seen anyone so completely panicked in the face of your father, it was unnerving. "Lord head mad scientist!" Gasping, the first boy exclaimed. He bowed respectively. "We are honored by your presence!"
"We received word that a teenage coven was planning to tempt your son into joining their ranks." Quivering, the second boy explained. "We had only the most pure and honorable of intentions."
"We were successful in driving off the coven." Also bowing, the third boy said. "We were only trying to persuade your son to pause long enough to hear us out."
"Yet, in your haste, you completely forgotten the gentleman code." His eyes narrowing, dad scolded. "Leave my son to me and approach him no longer or risk his, or worse, my wrath."
The boys nodded, defeat clear on their faces and walked away. He then turned to you and Joe and sighed spotting a small group of teenage girls in the distance.
