This is ridiculous. You're not going out there like this, not playing along with some mysterious game. There's no way you'll ever listen to some kind of evil villain who goes about changing people.
With a newfound resolve, you try again to open the door and are surprised to find that its unlocked. But not too surprised. With magic like this, who knew what these monsters could do to people. Its a little frightening.
Leaving the room, you quickly locate the phone and start texting your friends. Mark was a stand-up guy and always willing to lend a hand, although he could be a pushover at times. Billy was a joker and selfish at times, but he was much more proactive when the whole gang was united on a goal. You aren't particularly picky right now, given the state you're in, and send a mass text in the hopes of getting any kind of response.
"SOS. Need help right now. Please come quick."
Mark was the first to reply. "What? What's going on?"
"Can't explain over text. Have proof in person."
Billy's response was littered with goofy emojis. "Some kinda joke dude? Might wanna work on your pitch. ;P"
Ugh. Why did they have to be so difficult about this? You took a deep breath. Patience was key here. The situation was already alarming.
"Please. I need your help. You're the only ones I can trust right now." That would let them know it was serious.
"Alright, if you say so. On my way." You're so relieved you don't even process who responded, flopping into a chair in delight. Finally, someone brave and caring would come and rescue you. You'd be alright, just knowing that.
