"Liam, I won't tell you again, pick your feet up and get your work done!" Liz berated her most useless employee for what seemed like the 20th time that night. Even the limits of Liz's patience was now being tested by Liam's idleness. And a part of her just couldn't be doing with it. She rolled her eyes as Liam picked up a box and struggled to open it. Waste of space! Liz thought, as she walked off.
"Everything alright Liz?" Waggy asked her supervisor as they passed each other.
Liz sighed, then gave Waggy a smile. "It would be, if I had a potted plant working for me instead of Liam." she answered, eliciting a chuckle from the platinum blonde Tracey, known as Waggy by her friends. "Our work rate would definitely improve." Liz added.
"He slacking again?" Waggy inquired.
"He's really bad tonight." Liz nodded, then she shook her head in annoyance. "But hey, enough about him. How's you?" Liz asked Waggy.
"I'm good, nearly finished my work." Waggy answered.
Liz seemed eternally grateful. "I can always rely on you can't I luv? You and a few others." Liz sighed in relief. "I know this might seem mean of me, but when you're finished can you..."
Waggy didn't need Liz to finish her sentence. "I'll see if I can kick him in the ass, get him moving." she nodded, knowing that Liz wanted her to go and 'help' Liam when she was finished with her section.
"Thank you." Liz smiled, patting Waggy's shoulder and then walking off to check on someone else. As she was doing this, and while Elizabeth was behind the Help Desk checking the stock inventory on the computer, something very peculiar was happening at... or rather TO the front of the store. Unseen by all the team members, what seemed like a coating of frost appeared on the front windows. It was actually an impenetrable surface that not only blocked anyone from seeing in or out of the windows, it also made the store sound proof and disrupted all the phone lines and signals. The same thing happened to the entrance and exit, a 'frosty' coating blocking out the small windows and the locks on the doors becoming fused in place
Meanwhile, across the street from Wilkos, an old woman was cackling to herself, having just finished chanting the words of a certain gypsy curse. The old woman had run into one of the store employees (Charlotte) that day, who was more than a little disrepectful to her. The old woman had followed Charlotte around until she found out where she worked, and now she was going to 'punish' not only Charlotte, but those she worked with as well.
"Have fun my little darlings." The old woman laughed again, before shuffling off down the street to the bus station.

"Oh hey luv, you filled in all the information?" Liz asked Carly as she descended the stairs, followed by her best friend Zoe. The two beauticians had just finished up in the Administration office upstairs, completing an online 'agreement' with Wilkos regarding some beauty products and the associated advertisements. The cooperation would prove beneficial to both businesses.
"Yep, all done Liz." Carly beamed, her high heels clicking on the floor as she emerged from the doorway leading upstairs. The much taller Zoe following behind was dressed in a near identical 'Beautylicious' uniform, but Zoe had on a pair of 'sensible' flats instead of heels.
"That's great, I'll be sure to pass on any relevant information from head office as it comes in." Liz smiled.
"Thank you for this." Elizabeth chimed up from behind the help desk. She was grateful to be cooperating with the salon next door. Hopefully it would mean a boost in sales for both Wilkos and Beautylicious.
"No worries, and thank you as well." Zoe smiled, as she swung her khaki purse up over her shoulder.
Liz then led the two beauticians over to the door to let them out, only to notice what had happened to the windows and doors. Liz called Elizabeth over and the four women were dumbfounded over what could have caused such a thing to happen.
It surely wasn't that cold outside....
