Alexander sits down to talk with Geara

          “Ge…Geara?” Alexander stuttered.

          The android looked up at him, a huge smile splitting her face. “Yep, that’s me.” The android’s voice was high and bubbly, with just the hint of a mechanical twang. "And you are…" a pause, while Alexander could hear gears running inside the android's head. "Alexander, right? Would you like me to call you Alex?"

          "Umm, sure." No one had ever suggested that to Alexander…Alex before. No one had cared enough.

          "Cool." Geara stood and stretched, as if she was flesh instead of metal. "I'm so glad they assigned me to you."

          "Assigned me…to you. I mean, you to me?" Alex was still having problems with the fact one of his favorite character was real, she was actually in the room talking with him.

          "Alex…" Geara pouted. "don't tell me you forgot already. I'm your new therapy friend. I'm supposed to make you feel better."

          "But…you just appeared after I pointed at my poster and my panther." Alex gestured at the remote. Geara walked over to it and picked the small device up. She studied the remote from all angles, her eyes making more of the camera clicking noises.

          "Umm, there's an instruction manual as well." Geara set down the remote and accepted the fat book. She held it in one hand and flipped through the pages so fast they turned in a blur. Alex wasn't sure how she could read so fast, the pages passing by like a kid's sketchbook animation.

          When she finished, Geara set the manual back on Alex's bed. "Oh, I see now."

          "You do?"

          The android nodded. "That remote is a class D reality alteration device, or D-RAD for short. I presume it is how you were able to summon me to this dimension. Would you like me to demonstrate how to use its powers?"

          "Sure." Something told Alex that messing further with reality might be a bad idea, but that thought was buried deep under incredulity about what was happening. He was so stunned he didn't manage to move as Geara pointed the remote in his direction and pressed a button.
