Many thought the wolf’s powers faded. Many were foolish. The years slipped by, as did Sabrina’s fear of the forest. In that while, the wolf had spent his time in the sanctuary of darkness. Over time, his wounds healed from the defeats at the hands of the fairy Celine.
The wolf would venture forth as strength allowed only to engage in the hunt. Yet, he always avoided the canopy where the fairies resided. The fairies were fortified by the light of the sun and only drifted down the lower regions to heal the forest and the foliage that were not exposed to the healing rays of the sun.
It had been many years since Sabrina dreamt of the fairy princess Celine. Sabrina could not question papa about the dreams. His tears were too much for her gentle heart. She could not tell him that the dreams took on an quality of foretelling and that she was being summoned to the woods. She must take her rightful place as the seer for the village. She must retrieve the emblems of her rank from the hallowed ground in the middle of the forest.
