Chapter #3

June "ragdoll"

    by: Unknown
"Twenty bucks." You bargain.

"This is stupid." Brad responded.

"Twenty bucks, take it or leave it!" You reply.

"We don't even have money, and even if we did we'd have nothing to spend it on!" He argued.

"Fair enough." you agree, thinking of something else to put at stake. "Alright, how about this: if I can get the diary, you owe me a favor. You have to take over a person of my choosing and do whatever I want you to as that person for the whole day!" You bargain.

Brad was about to oppose but then he actually started to consider it. "And if you can't get it?" he asks, his interest piqued.

"I'll take the fall for stealing it." You wagered, confident in your ability to get the diary back. "Sound good?" You asked, extending your hand to him.

A huge and sickening leer nearly split Brad's head in half, and he took your hand with gusto. "Alright, we have a deal then!"

You looked at the giant industrial fan built into the wall before you. About five minutes ago you were practicing your free running in the facility's main generator room when you caught sight of Brad, snooping about suspiciously with a neon pink book held in his hand. You decided to ask him about it as it all seemed a bit odd, however as it turned out jumping down from twenty feet up while screaming "Hey watch'ya got there?!" at the top of your lungs was not an acceptable form of greeting, and you managed to scare big tough guy Brad rather badly. He shrieked and flipped around, in the process loosing his grip on the book he was carrying and tossing it into the air in a panic. After resetting both of your shattered ankles and apologizing for making Brad scream like a girl, despite not being the least bit sorry, he explained that the book was Ginny's diary. Brad had been trying to unsuccessfully imitate her for a while, always getting caught within minutes due to how poorly he knew the quiet and introverted Ginny. Since Brad can only control minds and vaguely sense the owner's subconscious but not actually read minds, he thought he could get some insight into the girl by taking her diary.

In his panic though he had thrown the diary, the book passing through the OSHA heart attack ventilation fan he had been passing by and miraculously gliding through the whirring blade unscathed. Now you looked at the blades, spinning quickly but not too quick for you, right? After all, if the book made it through just fine you were certainly quick enough. Even with it just close enough to reach it couldn't be that hard. You prepped yourself, ready to throw your hand between the blades to snag the book and win your favor. You didn't know what it would be yet, but you're sure you'd think of something. You always did. Wasting no more time you shove your right hand through the fan...
