Chapter #4

Your hand makes it out fine, but the book gets ...

    by: Unknown
Your eyes widen in shock as tiny fragments of paper gore splatter everywhere, shooting into the faces of you and your stunned compatriot. All that remained in your hand was a tiny fragment of the notebook's devastated corner, a handful of paper shreds that Brad chuckled over as he walked away. "Tough shit, you couldn't do it! I hope you enjoy the waterworks!" He taunted as he walked away, leaving you staring at your unscathed hand and what little remained of Ginny's personal journal.

"I... damn it." You swore, dropping the fragmented bits of pink cardboard and white paper to the floor. You were not looking forward to this.

For a while everything was rather quiet and the day passed uneventfully. You had supper, you showered, you chatted, and you exercised for an hour. She said softly.

"Ginny... we need to talk. Would you mind going somewhere private?" You inquired hoping to avoid a scene in public. Ginny nodded and the two of you made your way to her room, the younger girl sitting on her bed while you stood near the door to make a quick exit once the deed had been done. You were normally a very confident and forth going person but dealing with emotional stuff always made you very uncomfortable, it was the one place you could still get hurt. "Ginny, I don't really know how to say this but... you know that journal of yours? The pink one? Yeah, I kind of took it. I didn't read it yet, honestly I didn't, but... yeah I took it and then it kind of got caught in a fan. It... it wasn't really salvageable, I'm... look I'm sorry."

Ginny's eyes began to water, her body quaking at your betrayal. Soon she begins to bawl uncontrollably, burying her head in a pillow. Crap. "Uh, I'm... I didn't mean to, I... uh..." You stammered, scratching your scalp uncomfortably.

After a short while Ginny looks up from her pillow...
