A gargantuan woman, taller than the tallest man-made structure, strides towards you with her gaze fixed on the device a mile out of your reach. Her slim legs, tautly contained in black pants, glide forward while her black heels snap down confidently. Each step sends a shock through the floor, launching you briefly airborne along with the smaller grains of dust and sand around you. Her shapely hips and torso are swathed in a loose, turtle-necked, cream-colored sweater. A hefty, black briefcase drops with a thunderous impact.
The miles tall woman stops and bends forward at the waist. Her delicate, immaculate features are instantly familiar to you. She's a student from South Korea, Park So-Min. You've tried to strike up conversations with her in the past, but never succeeded in learning much about her. She's always been very shy, even deliberately secretive, about herself. You always chalked it up to being embarrassed for not speaking perfect English, but now you suspect something else. She's clearly been observing Professor Montana just as you had. She's here for the matter transposer. There's no questioning that. How long has she been watching? What are her plans for the professor's invention? What can you do about it now?
In an instant, the device is in her grasp. She lifts the briefcase from the floor and takes a step forward. It's all she needs to bring a scuffed, brown ceiling low over your head. You throw your arms up and shout. Your legs are uncooperative. Her sole descends with a blanket of darkness, and without a thought, Park So-Min completes her step and your story is over. She twists on the ball of her foot, crushing and grinding your minuscule body to a messy smear no bigger than the head of a pin split between tile and shoe.
