Chapter #6

Organized Crime Meeting

    by: Griswald Author IconMail Icon
So-Min sets her briefcase down on the table beside her, unaware that she is standing on top of a miniscule blood speck. The gory mess, too small for human eyes to see, used to be one of the few people at this school, who tried to befriend her. Unfortunately, letting people get close to her was risk the secretive student couldn't take. It's not that she didn't imagine it; having friends, hanging out, dating you. She just knew, it would be too dangerous for you to get close to her, and sadly she will never learn how right she was. As So-Min loads the matter transposer into her briefcase, she breathes a sigh of relief. Her job at this college is done. She firmly grabs the hilt of her briefcase, before stepping into the hallway, and making a quick paced exit out of the building. The steps of her black heels echo through the halls, while under her toes, a never-to-be seen speck of gore hardens into a permanent stain on the vast surface of her high heel's brown bottom. Park So-Min will never show up for class again, and will never now that she's not the only student who disappeared today.

9:55 PM

"Gather round," A thin bearded man says to a crowd of around ten other men, "Sit, sit, I have something you are all going to love."

So-Min stands beside the man, keeping a professional posture, with one hand holding her other hand in front of her waist, similar to a servant girl. She fails to hide the annoyed look on her face, as she stares at the table black-suited men, some of them young, suave and attractive, while others are old and fat. The one thing that links them all, is that they are the worst of the worst, low-lives that feed of the weak and poor, then fancy themselves the kings of the underworld. They'll dress up like they're high-class society, and have meetings like these, in the backroom of a money laundering casino.

The thin bearded Japanese man addressing his guests beside So-Min is no different. Jin Maeda, or as he prefers she calls him; father. A title and role he stole from a man he brutally murdered, in front of the little girl he now calls daughter. Park So-Min's real father was honorable cop who never learned to dirty up. So, after cracking the man's head open on the kitchen floor, Jin decided the cruelest way to dishonor the pig's memory, was to corrupt his legacy and weave his innocent little girl into a web of organized crime. As a little girl, So-Min feared the monster that killed her parents, but as she grew older, she learned to turn that fear into a tempered hatred. The Korean girl knew, she was nothing but a trophy to the Yakuza wannabe. She'd serve him, do odd jobs for him, and generally walked beside him like a pretty little wallflower, lying in wait, for the perfect opportunity to take her revenge.

Jin waves his hand behind him, signaling So-Min without even looking at her. "Show them what we've brought, darling daughter of mine."

Today is the day, the perfect opportunity has finally come. As Park So-Min walks toward the matter transposer, now laying in fancy open suitcase, a smile creeps along her face. She wraps her fingers around the device and turns to her adopted father, and the other crime lords.
