Each side to this argument battled for dominance within your mind. Sure... it would be taking a risk that was unnecessary if you were to actually approach this woman consciously, but haven't the past four months been pretty much one big risk? You were 1/3 of an inch tall for heavens sake, surviving on your own against nature that was now about a million times more deadly to you than it would be in normal circumstamces!
It was all too much. You groan and stand up out of your makeshift chair in frustration before looking back at the screen showing you the live feed of Tara's actions. She was sitting on a fold up chair outside her tent, peacefully reading a book with one leg crossed over the other. The evening hour was just about here, which meant the temperature was going to drop a little, prompting Tara to have clothed herself in a charming, white, pinstriped buttoned down shirt. Her foot bobbed up and down as if she impatiently waiting for something, which was made clear to you what that was when you caught her passing glances to the circle she made in the dirt for you.
First impression aside, even though her gargantuan size had terrified you at your first encounter; looking at her now on the screen, at a scale that still dwarfed you but atleast allowed you to see a person instead of a giant. You had a feeling you couldnt shake that this woman would indeed never intentionally harm you. However, it never hurt to be cautious. You couldnt be sure of anything that concerned her right now, but you had finally decided she was worth truly meeting. Perhaps it was the four months of solitude that pushed this decision, but as you retrieved your suit from your wardrobe, you felt a sense of excitement at the thought of possibly befriending a woman of her magnitude. From what you could gather about her, her willingness to allow that fucking wolf spider to live, showed you she had compassion and care for nature. The way she spoke to you and didnt pursue you, showed she was gentle, considerate and not overrun with personal greed at the prospect of nabbing a tiny man. All qualities that kept your mind at relative ease as you slipped on your tactical jacket, equiped your spear, and exited your shelter into the chilled air under a setting sun.
The trip back to her tent would be taken at a steady pace, for after all, good ol' Trevorina was still out there thanks to the woman and her glorious mercy. You would need to keep your eyes peeled for her. In all the past encounters, it was never you who found her first, but her that would try to corner, ambush, or take you from behind. It would be best to stay out in the open this time. Now that you had a giant looking out for you, you didnt want to engage in a fight with the spider or anything else under the cover of a grass patch where she wouldnt be able to see or help you again. So with that in mind, you descend down the slope and walk along the trunk of the tree before arriving at the threshold of an open plateau of dirt that stretches far out into the direction of her tent. Normally, you would never walk this ground, for it would be easy for any predator to spot, grab and devour you here. It was the no mans land for you. But again, you had her looking out for you. You could see her far in the distance like a mountain ruling over a landscape, still reading her book and occasionally scanning the area with her eyes for you. At the rate she was searching, it seemed unlikely she wouldnt spot you as long as you got close enough.
With a heavy breath, you officially step onto the open plain and begin to walk at a fast pace. Your nerves were sky high as your eyes dart from grass line to grass line for stalking predators. You couldnt prove it, but you knew you were already being watched by something hidden. A feeling of dread sunk into your gut as you got farther and farther, thinking at any moment, a terrifying beast would charge out of cover.

Tara was growing testy as the hours rolled by. Here she was, waisting precious time on a creature who could have very well been a figment of imagination. It was insanity! How could she have possibly believed that she saw,... well... what she saw? ...It was insane. But there was no doubt no matter how hard she thought back to that moment. She had definitely seen a person out here the size of an insect. And thanks to her blundering, she had frightened the poor thing away! She flipped the next page of her novel over with a sharp flick of her wrist, not even reading the final sentence, just interested in expressing her annoyance with her hands.
She hadnt been able to stand herself for the past few hours. Waves upon waves of self-negative thoughts flooded her brain as she cursed herself for completely ruining the experience of a lifetime. The little man... woman... she wasnt able to tell which it was due to the short amount of time she had eyes on it, but she could only feel terrible for scaring it off. All that could be done now was to wait and hope it would return. Afterall, Tara had only just arrived here. There was still a few days before she would have to go back home.
