Cersei smiled to herself as she sat at the head of a large banquet table. She watched with a mix of amusement and disdain as the visiting dignitaries gorged themselves on the food that her house provided. They were a group of menial representatives from various trade groups and low houses. No one that would be missed. Unfortunately, Joffrey could not be trusted to sit through such events due to his temper and proclivity towards violence. Therefore, it fell to her, the acting Queen Regent to suffer through it. However, tonight, she actually looked forward to the banquet, for it was sure to be a feast to remember.
Before the feast, she had the wine steward mix in the shrinking potion with the wine that was being served to the guests. Now, the wine that they were to toast with contained far more shrinking formula than what she gave to her brother’s whore. She motioned for the server to pour everyone the special wine for the toast before motioning the young girl towards her.
“Have yourself a glass too, deary. In fact, pour one for all of the servants and guards in the room. This is an evening of celebration.” Cersei said, dismissing her with a wave.
Once she saw that all the glasses were filled, Cersei stood and tapped her glass slightly. Once the drunken conversations died down, all of the gazes in the room fell unto her.
“My friends,” she began, laughing slightly at the thought of these inferior fools being friends to her, “We are gathered here tonight to recognize you, the little people. This dinner is to remind you that we in King’s Landing recognize all of our citizens, no matter how big or small. A toast, to the little people!”
She finished her toast, raising her glasses. The room murmured a reply, many unsure if they had been insulted. As they greedily gulped down her wine, none noticed that the Queen Regent herself did not drink. She merely sat at her chair, idly twirling a lock of her golden hair around one finger.
The effects were almost instantaneous. Glasses and cutlery fell as the guests panicked. They all felt so strange. Was it poison? The Queen was known to do such.
Cersei began to laugh loudly, a sick, maniacal laugh, as she watched the guests and servants and guards all dwindle down into their clothing. The wine glass crashed to the ground as the serving girl next to her disappeared into her clothes After waiting for a moment, she stood and walked over the the unfortunate server’s clothing.
“And now, for the main course.” The Queen said softly as she reached down to see how small the girl, and the other guests, had become.
